On the fuel rail at the injectors is a bleeder valve that looks somewhat like a tire valve. Have someone turn it over while you push this down. It is possible that you have air in the line and that is what is causing it to not want to crank up. Another way to check if it is something in the fuel rail, spray ether into the intake while someone is turning it over. If it cranks you have spark and no fuel or not enough fuel.

SOURCE: how to check fuel pump

Hi,

Improve the Fixya.com experience for everyone by voting!

The following is the cheapest and easiest way to check your fuel pressure and it's a five minute job.

  • Check the fuel pressure with a loaner fuel pressure gauge from AutoZone. It's FREE and comes with full instructions
  • Your reading should be 40-45 PSI and holding steady.
  • Contaminated fuel is a constant problem and if the pressure does not hold steady, replace the fuel filter.
Additional Checks:

  • Make certain that the engine thermostat is functioning and is the correct temperature.
  • Make certain that the alternator voltage output is not less than 9 volts nor more than 17 volts.

All the best

Ben

SOURCE: looking for schrader valve, trying

You will find a valve on your fuel rail. Your fuel injectors are attached to the fuel rail. The valve will look similar to a tire air valve and will be at the opposite end from where the file is.

Where is the fuel test valve on a 2000 Toyota Solara v6 3.0. For fuel pressure test

great question. 1MZ-FE
the V6 has a fuel rail and all rails made
have a plug there (pipe plug) to test it or a mounted
Schrader valve (rated for fuel not tire kind at all.)
if not there we add one. on all cars. or make up and adapter
there are many ways, depends on year.
the plug on rail , the valve.
on newer cars a quick disconnect line , you add matching Tee fitting.
some have test port on the fuel filter is outside tank.

here is 95 rail with no fitting, cant find 2000
the 2002 is non return system (2000 i dont know)
summit racing sells a banjo bolt that is hollow to fit rails.
remove banjo at crossover, put in new bolt and bam, got a port.

Where is the schroeder valve on a 2000 kia sportage

Id start by looking on the INTAKE manifold for 4 fuel injectors. They are connected by a commone pipe or tube called a fuel rail. Its typically located at one end or the other of this fuel rail. Hope this helps.

Car ran outof gas. put gas in, would not start. checked fuel pump, is pumping fuel. replaced fuel filter, replaced plugs, replaced wires, checked for pressure on fuel rail valve, got it (did not check...

Perhaps your fuel injectors are not opening properly to release the air pressure in the fuel rail and the fuel is unable to get in. With the vehicle off, remove the cap from the Schrader valve (the same kind of valve used on tires) in the fuel rail, then depress the pin in the center of the valve with a small screwdriver. CAUTION: this may be under high pressure (some vehicles have 90 PSI systems), and there probably will be gasoline in there. Make sure there are no ignition sources present (no smoking!) and wear safety glasses. If you get only air or nothing comes out, put the cap back on the valve and try to start the car one more time. If that doesn't work, your fuel pump was probably damaged when the tank went dry.

Cant find where the fuel line connects to the engine

If you find your fuel rails there should 2 lines. One is attached to the pulsation damper and feeds into the fuel rail which is usually in the front and on the top of the engine. The fuel then exits through the fuel rail, out the pressure relief valve and back to the tank. Most of your fuel lines are marked feed and return on the fuel hoses. If this doesn't work for you you can raise and support the front end .If you look on the frame on the driver side you should see the fuel lines that run from your fuel tank to your fuel rail or TBI (Throttle Body Injectors).Hope this helps you find it.

Where is the fuel pressure port

you should be able to relieve the fuel pressure a couple of ways. the fuel pressure can be relieved by pushing the schrader valve at the end of the fuel rail. just follow the fuel line to the intake manifold and that will lead you to the fuel rail. the valve should be at either end of the fuel rail. if you cant find it just let the car sit for about an hour. this will let the fuel pressure bleed down a bit then just remove the fuel line wherever you need to. you will probably still get a little bit of fuel on you but it won't be that bad.

Want to check fuel pressure but cant find valve was told fuel pump is bad. is pump in tank??

Hi!!

Yes, the fuel pump is located insde the fuel tank.you check the fuel pressure at the service port located on the fuel injectors rail. it has a cap and looks just like the valve where you put air in your tires. If you don't have a fuel pump pressure testerr, borrow one from AutoZone.
