Power steering pump might be bad or low on fluid or you have a broken control arm under your vehichle you will need to look under your vehichle to see whats wrong or broken,do not try to drive it that way,you could also have a broken ball joint

Ignition switch is jammed after removing key

try holding the steering wheel hard over left, try to turn the key. then try hard over to the right while trying to turn the key. The steering lock may just have too much pressure against it. for instance if the steering wheel was turned before removal of the ignition key. If it still doesnt work try a bit of lock lube or WD40 in the key slot and run the key in and out of the ignition to free up the lock.

Steering wheel locked, cannot turn key to start, jiggling steering wheel not effective. turned battery on and off, inserted wd40, nothing works. help!!!

Try holding your steering wheel hard to the left as you try to turn the key. If this doesnt work try holding it to the right doing the same thing. Something happened to where the steering wheel lock engaged and that will prevent you from using the ignition key. Try this

Lincoln town car is in park and the key goes in the ignition but you cant turn it to start the car. was working until yesterday. girlfriend parked it with the wheels turned

the wheels turn should make no difference.

Try turning the wheel both ways while trying to turn the key...it may be in the lock detent position. if that doesnt work, then you need to get the lock cylnder replaced.

1) Have you snapped the pulley belt, the power steering pump is powered by this? 2) check the track rod arms and where they enter of the steering rack. Sometimes the bearing that keeps the rack central breaks and the rack then rubs the outer tube causing a dragging noise and heavy steering

Key wont turn in ignition

try turning the steering wheel back and forth hard while trying to turn the key, in case the steering lock locked up hard. if that doesnt do it you probably need a new ignition cylinder.

Yesterday, my 2004 Nissan Quest had the front end bushings and control arms replaced. The car still has a "knuckling" noise when I'm making semi-hard left or right hand turns. Forget about hard turns!! ...

it usually does but you have also an intermediate shaft that connects steering column to steering rack, I know those at times can cause the exact noise you describe although what you replaced usually does.

Steering wheel extremely hard to turn

Replace the power steering pump should fix it. Have seen both failed pump and steering racks cause this problem.

Locked steering wheel

Try having someone rock the car frontwards and backwards, while you rock the steering wheel back and forth and try to turn the key - it sounds like you're jammed up hard against the steering column lock.
