You have a throttle body instead of a carb.
Nothing is really adjustable, the idle speed is controlled by the computer.

Sounds like you have an injector leaking. Have someone just cycle the key on and off to run the fuel pump but don't crank the engine. If you see fuel dripping from the injectors, unbolt the injector cover on the throttle body, remove the injectors and replace the orings around the injectors.

The 1984 model could be throttle body injected or a regular 4 barrel carb. The GT model is supposed to have a carb.
CFI is central fuel injection which is like TBI. The throttle body has two injectors mounted in the center, one for each bank.
If it has a carb you may have some adjustments you can make. If it is fuel injected you don't. The computer monitors the engine temp and exhaust gas to regulate fuel mixture.

1997 chevy pick up will start when we add gasoline directly in to carburator but after it runs out of gas it dies

this is a fuel injected motor not a carburatored motor.if it only runs when you pour fuel in the throttle body then you have a fuel supply problem that needs to be checked out,you may have a plugged fuel filter and a bad fuel pump.

Is my 1990 chevy 1500, 350 motor fuel injected?

I believe that all cars were required to be fuel injected by the late 1980s in the US. but the only way to be sure is to look at the engine. Is there are big cylindrical dish that looks almost like a tire sitting on the top center part of the engine? if you dont know, try and find the air intake. follow the line past the air filter. When you get to the engine, does it seem to meet with small marker shaped objects, one for each cylinder the engine has? if so, the car is fuel injected. If there is a carbeurator, the dish thing that sits on the top of the engine, the car is not fuel injected

We had a 350 in the truck and swiched it to a 400 small block carberter and it shifts really hard and has no over drive.

sounds like the throttle valve cable is disconnected/misadjusted. If you swapped from fuel injection to carbureator you might have to get a cable from a carb. equipped vehicle in order to make it work. You will also need the brackets that work with the carb, the adjustment of the cable is critical for proper shifting as it has no modulator.

you can run this motor carburated if you want by purchasing an after market conversion intake and carburator setup. if you want to leave it fuel injected you will need to swap wiring harnes and everything, computers and sensors you will have to run manual guages for the temp sensors and oil pressure guage and alternator due to your speedo being unable to accept them.

Change engine in different engine/350 fuel injection, try to find gas line to attach to switch with two tanks lines.

What you have is commonly known as a "dually" (because it has dual rear wheels) Essentially the truck is identical to others of that year except for the rear differential which has "floating" axles (likely a Dana unit). The best manual would be the original chevy shop manual...Otherwise try and find a chilton or motors manual for that year.
I don't quite understand what your question heading means...Are you considering swapping the engine?

1989 accord lx, idles high at start-up, now it won't stay running

Carburated engines of that year may have an idle screw adjuster. You can see the screw from the outside of the carb. If so, try adjusting the carburator with a screwdriver. Unlike fuel injected Engines they can be manually adjusted.

The wiring harness is different for a carburated truck. You can get the wiring books from the dealer, or try to find it on line.
