Yes, the cat can be cut and and a new one welded in. Toyota sells a cat pipe, it would probably be cheaper to get one from an exhaust shop, but the warranty on the cat is 96 months or 96,000 miles from toyota.

p 0402 is EGR valve and solenoid problems
that sort of back pressure indicates cat converter is blocking the exhaust system
the rest are o2 and Ho2 sensor problems probably from the faulty cat
one side would be oxygen sensor trying to adjust mixture but unable from cat
fix the cat converter/s and then get a fault code reading
next post include make , model and year and engine type

did your replace the whole cat?, if not is the cat still good? If not your might have to replace that. the cat cuts 80% of the emissions.

I have the following codes on a 2002 camry p0420, p1300 and p0301 is the car worth fixing 173000 miles

HI the cheaper method to begin with under these circumstances ,remove CAT from exhaust system replace with straight pipe. Check cyl 1 for fuel ,spark and compression .Normally when removing the CAT on other cars the engine performed normally .Fault codes verify exhaust system blocked.

How to change af sensor for honda accord2004lx

they are threaded into either the exhaust manifold or exhaust pipe. You will need to know if you need to replace the one before the cat or after the cat.

Either a 7/8" wrench or a special O2 socket will be needed to remove the old one and install the new one.

How do i change the catalytic converter?

Kind of a pain to do by yourself, unless you have the right tools,

if The cat on the car is bolted to the rest of the exhaust you can just unbolt it and bolt the new one in, If its not bolted you would have to cut the old cat out and have the new one welded in.

Blocked CAT?? judder on low revs.....

You will not do any damage to the car driving with a stuffed cat.The exhaust has already left the engine and has left the building. No harm to be done. You said the engine goes fine when you stick the boot into it.Maybe not a blocked cat.Its probably engine tune but a hole in exhaust may get it and you going better:)Have a go mate!Hope this helps

Exhaust

Good Day,

Most aftermarket exhaust systems are cat-back. You defiantly need to keep the cat to comply with local emsisions regualtions. However you can remove the mufflers and replace them with high flow mufflers or resonators. Try to replace them with something not too loud so you are in accordance with noise laws in your area. I have a 2000 s10 with no mufflers, just a cat then a y-pipe to make it dual with two resonators coming straight out the back, I live in the states and made sure this sytem was 50 state street legal before I purchased it. I suggest you do the same to avoid harrasment by the police.

Good Luck

Hope this helps.
