Well, assuming the the column switch you got is not defective, the only other thing that could cause this is a bad feed wire from the column switch to the high beams it is a light green wire. If you get a blue high beam indicator light, that light shares the same power that goes directly to the high beams which means that your multi-function switch is good and you need to go hunt down the break in the light green wire.
Your car may be equipped with driving, or fog lights. The dashboard symbols are often similar, with high beams being blue and fog lights green or yellow depending on make of the car.

That sounds like you have 1 ground wire, 1 wire for the low beam, and 1 wire for the high beam. If the car has the standard halogen headlight bulb I would recommend replacing it and seeing if that fixes the problem.
There is a relay for the high beams that may be faulty. That relay is located in the power distribution box located under the hood of the vehicle in the engine compartment. The relay location will be in the "R5" position in that panel (see diagram of layout below). Other then that you could be looking at a bad switch or a wiring problem nut pretty sure this will be your problem. I hope this helps and good luck.
hi, all lights the first and important battery light this shows RED when the alternator NOT carging:
the oil light shows ORANGE LOW on oil:
the engine managment light shows when engine sensors detect faults shaped like an engine ORANGE light
head main beam BLUE when ON MAIN BEAM
indicator FLASHING GREEN light
hazard warning RED light
brake fluid low light RED looks like this ( )
brake handbrake ON RED light looks like this ( )
side light GREEN looks like a star
most of the important lights are RED or ORONGE gerry
You know the fuse for the high beams is good ( Cab fuse panel fuse # 16 ) and the pass low beam fuse ( cab fuse panel # 26 ). Might want to check cab fuse panel fuse #28 ( this is the driver's side low beam ).
If this fuse has power on both sides ( with the low beams on ) next you can pull the headlamps, and check for power at the connectors, but depending when the last bulb change took place, I would say you need need bulbs. ( need at least 1 for the high beam out ) Confirming with a meter at the headlamp would be a good idea, before spending the money.
The bulb connector has 3 pins. Black wire is ground on both sides Light Green w/ Black stripe wire is high beams on both sides Driver Lo = Dark Blue w/ white stripe Pass Lo = Dark Green w/ Orange stripe.
do you have fog lights on that vehicle ?
