Just go to your dealership with proof of ownership, and the VIN # of your car, and they can look up the key code and cut one for you.

He may have locked up the pin sequence. You might need to buy a new switch not that exspensive. Stay away from the dealership or it will be.

I bought an 07 impala. I have the key fob and ignition key. My problem is my key doesnt fit the door lock. My battery died in the car and i had to break into it to get it started. Can i buy a replacement...

the best idea is to ask a locksmith if they gave the barrel and if so have it keyed to the keys you have
if not get the lock from a wreckers /junk yard and have the locksmith change it to your keys

2001 chevy cavalier lost key can I replace the ignition switch without a key?

the original key is coded to your car.
So changing the barrel to have a new key wont help and ill tell you why.
Inside the original key is a transponder chip that is programmed to the cars immobiliser unit.
Attached to the ignition barrel is whats called a reader coil and its job is to read the keys chip when inserted in the barrel to deactivate the immobiliser so that the car will start.
What you need to do is contact a good knowlegable locksmith to provide a new key and code it to your car

Is the Honda Acty 1985 ignition key the same one as door key

with new cars it is normal to have the one key code for all the locks on the car
if your ignition key is different to door locks or boot lock it is possible that a new barrel was fitted at some time requiring a new key where the barrel should have been recoded to existing key
it is still possible that a locksmith can re code the barrel to the door lock key reducing the necessity of having many keys

I lost my only key to my 1997 ford crown vick how can i get it started without the key

not possible as the key also controls the steering lock
get in a locksmith to remove the barrel and cut a key to that barrel
if the key is a fob key to activate the immobilizer it will have to be that type and the locksmith should be able to program it to the car

How can I get my 1991 honda accord started without using the ignition key, cause I lost it?

It isn't too hard to get it started, but your steering will still be locked without a key. You can unscrew the electrical section of the ignition switch off the mechanical section and turn it with a screwdriver, then to be able to turn the wheel you remove the mechanical section, usually with a hammer and chisel, since it is held on with anti-theft breakaway bolts. A locksmith might be easier.

Lost my key and cant statr my car how do i use a scewdriver in the ignition to start it?

you can't use a screwdriver in the ignition switch to start the engine,if you try you will most likely destroy it & have to replace it,( the ignition switch) depending on the model of your vehicle you may be able to go to a dealer & buy a replacement key,if you have an owners manual for the vehicle the key number may be in it otherwise you might have to get a locksmith to see if they can cut you another key.......hope this helps......cheers.

I cant get my t-tops to open. I only have two keys one for the doors and one for the ignition. Is there a third key i am not aware of?

The door key should lock/unlock your t-tops... Those aren't the original tops to your car though -- the previous owner must have bought them as replacements, and for whatever reason didn't pass the key along.

(So in your case/situation, the answer is Yes, there's a third key ;-> )

It is possible to have locksmiths or dealerships cut you new door keys, but you'll need the VIN from the original car (probably not gonna happen.) I were you, I'd consult a reputable locksmith and have them just drill the locks out for you. The reason I suggest this, is that if the T-top locks are built anything like the door locks, it's possible to drill it in a fashion that doesn't totally obliterate the mechanism (it just breaks it enough so that you can use any other key (or screwdriver, etc) to work the lock :)
