SOURCE: CTS in dash navigation system

There is a company called PAC that specializes in modules like you describe - keeping the steering wheel controls functional with an aftermarket radio.

Click HERE to visit their site. You have to choose a compatible manufacturer. Basically - it is turning the steering wheel controls into a "remote" hidden in the dash.

CLICK HERE for the PAC installation guide for the 2006 CTS

For best results and compatibility, look for a shop in your area that carries PAC - it is a common manufacturer in the BIZ, and have them install it.

The simple answer to your question is YES as long as you use the module compatible for the brand of radio you are installing.

SOURCE: 2004 cts cadillac service security system; key

Has nothing to do with security system. You either have a bad shifter assembly, or a faulty lock cylinder in your ignition switch.

I have a 2006 cts cadillac and it will not crank. I drove to work this morning and it is 2:00pm now and it will not crank up at all. The radio comes on but the battery volt only says 12 when they usua

Is the battery as old as the car? If so, it's certainly the battery. OEM batteries on luxury cars last a surprisingly long time, but six years is usually the limit. Replacement batteries (in my experience) only last four years at most. So even if this isn't the original battery, it's time for a change. By the way, when a battery needs a charge or a replacement, it will be able to run accessories (such as a radio or cabin lights), but will not have enough power to crank the starter.

Service electrical system

the alternator might not be up to scratch, some new or say new are not they are reconditioned. now these can be good as new but if a fault in the coils happens you will have problems with the voltages.

Cadillac cts reads service charging system

Usually this message comes on when the vehicles electrival system is below approximately 10 volts or over 16 volts indicating a charging system malfunction. You should take the vehicle to a trusted automotive repair facility and have the alternator and battery check for proper performance.

2008 cts will not start. not sure if it is battery because the lights on the inside come on . When the key is turned it just makes a clicking noise.

just get a jump start. if it starts properly. and it has at least 14 volts at battery while running. its a bad battery ! remove negative cable from battery while running. if alternator is not charging battery. engine will quit. if ok, replace or charge battery. good-day !

My key is stuck in the ignition of my 2006 cadillac cts

2005 CTS 3.6 Dead battery, key stuck, service anti theft and nothing happens when you turn key, Ttried everything, ECM reset, key memory reset, charged battery to 12.7 volts, locked door w remote and opened w key, anyway you get the idea. After 3 days of online reading and trying, THIS IS WHAT WORKED, 1. put key into on position 2. removed sarter relay from front fuse panel 3. jumped 1st pin closest to fender and passenger seat with pin that is closest to motor and front fender. I used a paper clip and just made contact long enough for car to start. ran car for five minutes and took key out and everything went back to normal. then I took car to advance auto parts to have engine light reset. if car does not go back to normal you have ECM (car computer) failure. video on YouTube under "no crank, no start"

I have a 1998 Cadillac Deville. I replaced the battery, and alternator. Its still not charging properly. The service charging system light is on on the dash. Can you tell me what else could be wrong?

Sounds like a faulty voltage regulator to me.Start the car and take a multimeter and check voltage coming out of the alternator it should be 14-14.6 volts if its not within these specs take alternator back and get a new one.
