Question about 1998 Mitsubishi 3000GT
I am trying to remove the inner steering tie rod. It screws into the steering rack but there is no room to put a wrench on the flats. Is there a special tool or trick to get at this animal?
There is a special tool and you can find it at most parts stores. It is oversized a bit and you slip it over the tie rod. Then you turn in the screw on the side to tighten it on the flats. The tool will have an opening at the end to accept a 3/8 or 1/2 ratchet, depending on the tool.
