Check the Tension on the Belt First. If it is even a Little loose it will not allow the Alternator to Charge The Battery.

I had the same problem on my 96'. It ended up being the mega-fuse, which is located on the left side of the fuse box under a plastic cover that slides up. It has two wires running to it(one of which is the main wire from the alt to the battery), and two bolts holding it in. Hope this helps.

Dashboard Gauges stopped working on '96 Jeep

If you wired anything into the fuse panel, check those fuses first. You can test all of them with either a test light or meter without removal. Just probe into the cavity at each end of the back of the fuse. Sometimes it matters which side of the fuse you used to supply power (dosen't make sense but I had that happen a few weeks ago). If fuse is not blown take power from the other end of same fuse and see if it works. If you did blow a fuse, try another connection source. I can't tell you which fuse because I don't know what you tapped into.

My 95 Jeep Grand cherokee dies when i turn it off.

Check for lights on (glovebox etc) put ammeter from either disconnected battery cable to the battery and check draw by pulling one fuse at a time 'till draw disappears or gets substantially lower. Then check items served by that fuse for any problems. Can't just be that it misses you when you are away? Had battery charged and load tested?

Battery dont charge

Check all the connections. The battery clamps should be tight. Wires on the alternator should all be tight. Have you watched your battery charge indicator when the Jeep died to see if it was falling below 13 volts?

2002 jeep grand Cherokee battery won't charge

Sounds like alternator.Get it started then disconnect one lead from battery and see if it still runs. If not, then have your alternator checked.
