SOURCE: toyota estima 2000 engin light

Chain sound? That's a first. If there's an auto zone or advanced auto in your area, they'll have the computer to read that error code for the engine light, and will save you about 60 bucks in having a shop do it for you. But if there is a sound accompanying it, chances are it's mechanical, and I really wouldn't trust driving it till it's looked at.

THE NORMAL LOCATION FOR A THERMOSTAT IS AT THE END OF THE TOP RADIATOR HOSE ON THE TOP OF THE ENGINE. THERE SHOULD BE A ROUND BALL SHAPED HOUSING HELD IN PLACE WITH TWO OR THREE BOLTS. UNDER THIS HOUSING, YOU WILL FIND THE THERMOSTAT. HOPE THIS HELPS. THANKS FOR AN HONEST RATING AND FOR USING FIX-YA. GOOD LUCK. PLEASE KEEP ME POSTED. How I do my Toyota sienna 200 emit black smoke, slow speed often.

loss of engine power. its called, and may stall, it will soon,.
the black smoke is very very rich fuel.
and the dash board, CEL glowing running, telling you to Scan the PCM.
so do so. ok seems you did?
next time post all DTCs, never tell me what they mean, i look them up
in real books, real Sienna 2000 books, not web rumor bs.
which engine?
my guess is
3.0 L 1MZ-FE V6 (1998-2000) This one.
3.0 L 1MZ-FE V6 (01-03, VVT-i)
The V6 DTCS, we need all DTCs thrown. by number
like P0300 or the like.
is 200 = 2000 year? 1998 to present they are made.

How many screw or bolts are needed to loosened or remove to take the plenum or manifold out to get to the rear spark plugs? I have Toyota sienna2000 and cannot take the manifold out after removing 7 nuts!

why not tell what engine is there. in the 2000 car, and country.
diff, counties use diffr. engines...(called options, etc)
we had this choice, in 2000
3.0 L 1MZ-FE V6 (1998-2000)
3.0 L 1MZ-FE V6 (01-03, VVT-i) 210 hp, 220 lb·ft

so 1mz.
spark out , the service manual covers that, buy one?
or use alldata.com>?

to get the manifold off with all bolts off , takes hitting it with a
rubber mallet, to break the bond, (all cars made) if not lucky,.
toss a coin.
now that 1mz is known any one can google that. and the first hit lands.
using parking brake to get the engine to rock forward trick?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2m7J5Snf4jc

if compelled to do it FSM way, then read the FSM.
(large arms?)

03?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wBLh4aXZKBA

knowing the name 1MZ , makes all this easy . no?

see what others do to cheat the book, (oldest story on earth this)

i think the issue is cab forward design of body, making sparks
a PITA to remove..
but is not, if you use the right tools. and techniques.
wobble sockets? , extensions, and universals. all help.

I need to change my thermastat but can not locate it

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION (4 Cyl. eng.) CAUTION
Never open, service or drain the radiator or cooling system when hot; serious burns can occur from the steam and hot coolant. Also, when draining engine coolant, keep in mind that cats and dogs are attracted to ethylene glycol antifreeze and could drink any that is left in an uncovered container or in puddles on the ground. This will prove fatal in sufficient quantities. Always drain coolant into a sealable container. Coolant should be reused unless it is contaminated or is several years old.
  1. Position a suitable drain pan under the radiator drain **** and drain the cooling system.
  2. On the 1MZ-FE engine, remove the air cleaner cap assembly. Be sure to label all wiring disconnected.
  3. Disconnect the water temperature switch harness from the water inlet housing (except 5S-FE engines).
  4. Remove the oil filter on 5S-FE engines. On the 1MZ-FE engines, remove the heater hose covering the housing.
  5. Loosen the hose clamp and disconnect the lower radiator hose from the water inlet housing.
  6. Remove the two nuts from the water inlet housing and remove the housing from the water pump studs.
  7. Remove the thermostat and rubber O-ring gasket from the water inlet housing. To install:
  8. Make sure all the gasket surfaces are clean. Clean the inside of the inlet housing and the radiator hose connection with a rag.
  9. Install the new rubber O-ring gasket onto the thermostat. On 2SE and 3S-FE engines, align the jiggle valve of the thermostat with the protrusion on the water inlet housing. On 5S-FE engines, align the jiggle valve with the upper side of the stud bolt. On 2VZ-FE and 3VZ-FE engines, align the jiggle valve with the stud bolt. Insert the thermostat into the housing. Fig. 1: Remove the thermostat housing from the engine with the coolant temperature sensor - 1MZ-FE engine 89553p18.jpg
Fig. 2: Removing the thermostat from the engine - 1MZ-FE engine 89553p19.jpg
Fig. 3: Always discard the old O-ring from the thermostat, if reusing the old component 89553p20.jpg
Fig. 4: Always replace the thermostat with the correct temperature specifications 89553p21.jpg
Fig. 5: Line-up the jiggle valve with the protrusion on the housing - 5S-FE engine 89553g10.gif

  10. Position the water inlet housing with the thermostat over the studs on the water pump and install the two nuts. Tighten the two nuts to 78 inch lbs. (9 Nm) on 4 cyl. engines, 2VZ-FE and 3VZ-FE; 14 ft. lbs. (20 Nm) and 69 inch lbs. (8 Nm) on 1MZ-FE engines. Fig. 6: Thermostat installation - 2VZ-FE and 3VZ-FE engines 89553g11.gif
NOTE: Don't forget to install a new O-ring onto the water inlet pipe. Apply soapy water to the O-ring prior to installation.
  11. Connect the lower radiator hose to the inlet housing and install the hose clamp. On the 3VZ-FE, tighten the bolt holding the water inlet hose to the alternator belt adjusting bar to 14 ft. lbs. (20 Nm). On the 1MZ-FE engine, tighten the bolt retaining the water inlet pipe to the cylinder head to 14 ft. lbs. (20 Nm).
  12. Attach the water temperature switch connector.
  13. On the 1MZ-FE engines, install the heater hose removed.
  14. Install the oil filter and check the oil level if removed. Install the air cleaner cap assembly on the 1MZ-FE engines.
  15. Fill the cooling system with a good brand of ethylene glycol based coolant.
  16. Start the engine and inspect for leaks.
