No I haven't fixed it yet. But I did find one thing out. I tryed putting relays to see if the fan or the pump would turn off and it did not. So I started pulling out one fuse at a time and when I got to one of the larger fuses (a 40A) when I pulled it the fan and the pump turned off. It was the power seat fuse.(I don't have any power seats) I check to see if the car would run and it does. It was getting late and I quit for the night. I will get back to it today. Do you have any Ideas. I also looked under the seat and all the wiring under the seat look clean.

repairpal.com > Problems > Mazda > MPV When turning the ignition off, if it stays running, just flick the ignition back on, but no so far as to ... My fan stays on after I cut my car off and it drains my battery.
The most common cause of this problem is that the drivers seat heater grid is open or burned out. That is based on 25 years as a Ford dealer technician.
depending on the engine temperature the fan is supposed to remain on after you turn the engine off, until the engine reaches a preset cooler temperature. when it reaches cooler temperature usually within 5 minutes or so it should cut off... if you cut it off and it is running 30 minutes later.. then there is a problem with the fan relay or temperature sending unit.
Fan will run for a certain period of time after shutting down motor of vehicle. This is normal. Your engine is still hot when you turn the key off. There are sensors that tell the computer when the engine is cool enough for the fans to shut off.
sounds like the cooling fan might not be working..check to see if it is working or not...if not check the power to the fan to make sure it isnt a fuse or bad fan motor
An electric fan will stay on even if your engine is off. It does that to cool your engine. This itself should not cause your check engine like to come on. Hope this helps you.
YOU MUST REMOVE UPPER RAD SUPPORT TO REMOVE COOLING FANS..REMOVE ALL 10MM,13MM HEADED BOLTS..REMOVE 4 HEADLAMP SCREWS..7MM HEAD..THERE ARE 2 PLASTIC RIVETS THAT MUST BE CUT OFF AS WELL..HOOD LATCH CAN STAY WITH SUPPORT,LAY BACK ON TOP OF ENGINE OR REMOVE IT..MARK LOCATION ON SUPPORT..REMOVE 4 BOLTS FROM FAN ASSEMBLY,UNPLUG IT..IT ALSO COMES OUT EASIER WITH UPPER RAD HOSE DISCONNECTED..1 CLIP ON TOP OF FAN HOUSING AS WELL
Ok. that makes more sense. the relay should be in the fuse box under the hood. it should have a diagram under the cover to help you locate it. that is most likely the problem.
How does the temperature gauge read on your dash.. Is your car temp at 190 degrees while driving.. If its higher than 190 your overheating and that would cause the fan to cool her down.. good Luck
