SOURCE: Unable to remove the tires.

If you have all the lug nuts off the wheel will come off it is problaby rusted to the hub.  Do not take the large bolt out.  You need to loosly screw 2 of the lugs back on but not all the way.  Now kick the tire w/ the heel of your shoe to break it free.  or if you have a plastic weighted hammer hit on the backside of the tire to break it free.  It will come loose

SOURCE: 1995 Toyota Rav4 4X4 - replace rear hub bearings

You have to take the rear diff apart to pull the axle. I think you should inspect your u-joints by taking them apart. Some times they can fool you. And check that there is no play in the pinion when you have the driveshaft off.

SOURCE: how do i changs axle shaft on a 2001 toyota echo?

To remove the axle, losen axle nut with tire on the ground if possable, much easier without air tools. Disconnect strut at top of spindle, outter tie rod, and lower balljoint. Using a prybar pop axle out of transaxle. Some of these steps may be alittle different for your vehicle, these are general directions. If you are compitent enough to do this job then these steps will get you through it. If these steps confuse you pay someone else to do it.

SOURCE: Replace 2007 Toyota Rav4 super sport passenger side door mirror

On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring for your controls. Then you can access the bolts that secure the mirror onto the door

What size tool/kind of tool do i need to remove the big center star nut on my 2007 toyota highlander front rotor

The rotors are knock off rotors. They are just rusted and stuck to the hub. DO NOT REMOVE THE AXLE NUT. this will not help you get the rotor off. Instead use a large hammer and hit the rotor from the back side. Several good whacks should break it free.

Rotors

That doesn't need to come off - that's the axle end bolt and only needs to be removed if you're taking off the axle. Once the rotor is fully visible on the hub (ie, caliper is out of the way, wheel off, lug nuts off), firmly tap the sides of the rotor (not the edge of the disc, but the "hat" - the center section of the rotor) with a hammer. It's most likely that heat and weather have caused corrosion that has bound the rotor to the hub. Whack it a few times with a hammer and see if it comes loose.

Serpentine Belt Toyota Rav4

Hi maroon,
  • Get a 14mm or 9/16" socket and a long handled ratchet or breaker bar.
  • Get the belt around all the pulleys except the A/C compressor or Alternator. Double check your routing.
  • The tensioner pulley is on a spring loaded arm. Get your socket on the center nut of this pulley.
  • Slowly pull the ratchet toward the center of the engine. The pulley will pivot on the arm allowing you to get the belt on the final pulley.
  • Slowly release the tension.
  • You're done
