Did you only check the truck fuse block in the cab? There is also a relay and fuse center under the hood that has a fuse for the radio

Is the head unit hardwired to the battery or to the original harness?? if it is hardwired to the harness detatch it and hard wire it to the batter with a toggle switch under the das that way it will bypass anythign that oculd be cousing a short regular 20 gauge wire will do the trick just make sure that you ground it to something on the frame not the engin or the battery return if it is already hardwired check the connections for the face of the head unit{ that is if it is a removable face if not it stumps me

Car stereo not receiving power.

Sound system w/o amplifier. Not only check the fuses, check the fuse circuit for voltage, use a test lite. As you can see, one fuse is hot all the time, the other fuse goes hot with the key on. Also check ground wire, that wire color is black.

My son's 1997 Honda Accord has an aftermarket stereo that works but his cigarette lighter doesn't. Could it be a fuse?

The thing is, whoever hooked up the stereo would know for sure where the connected into in order to get power to the stereo. If they went off somewhere ealse other than what the factory made to be the power for the stereo it would make sense. In the accord for your year the power to the stereo and the cigarette lighter is the same fuse if it was hooked to the same wiring that came with the vehicle. They may have by accident disconnected the lighter and it's just not hooked up at all. You can check the fuse for the cigarette lighter if you would like. that fuse is in the fuse panel located in the engine compartment and will be in the number 18 position and sould be a 15 amp fuse ( see diagram of the layout of fuses below). If that fuse is bad and corrects the problem then they hooked up to another power source when they hooked up the stereo. I hope this helps you and good luck.

1999 dodge caravaAfter installing a new stereo, I found that when

This should be located at the back of the fuse panel. There may also be a relay under the hood in the relay/fuse box. Check those as well.

Also, check the fuse in the back of the stereo (if equipped). If it's blown, replace with new one 2-5 amps higher than original. This may be the problem as the stereo may be drawing too much power. Also, make sure that all wired that may be or are connected to the batter (pos +) are in good repair and have a clean solid connection.

Do this for the ground at the battery as well as the chassi or block. Check also the pos + on the starter.

Please let me know if you need any further assistanve.

The power mirrors, interior light, and stereo does

There is a module built into the instrument panel that controls the interior lights. If that thing goes bad, you have to replace the entire instrument panel. Everyone always says check the fuses, of course you would have done that before running to your computer to ask a stranger what to do! The instrument panel is expensive, I hope thats not your problem, thats my problem. Good luck.

Resistor is blown...take the truck to an automotive electronics/stereo shop that installs keyless entry systems ($89) and put an aftermarket keyless on the truck. They'll have to trouble-shoot the system to make the installation of the new keyless!

Lights on a 2001 ram 1500

Sounds like you blew a fuse or 2. Disconnect the socket you just replaced , replace any bad fuses and check. If it works, be sure you are hooking the new socket up correctly.
