SOURCE: want to change spark plugs on a nissan 2000 maxima

The rear plugs on this car are relatively easy to change. First locate the electrical connectors on the rear coils and remove them. Next, take a 10mm socket and remove the bolt that hold the coils to the engine block and remove each coil. The last step is to remove each plug and install the new ones. You may need various extensions and such, but it is very do-able and you do not need to remove the air plenum as you do with the 3.5 engine used in 2002.

Remove the air duct on the engine and Disconnect the harness and brackets around the ignition coil and remove the ignition coil. Unscrew and remove the spark plug and replace it with new spark plug in to the cylinder well and tighten it. Make sure to adjust the tension of spark plug as per the specification of spark plug manufacturer.
