SOURCE: White smoke and engine cutting out

It sounds like the cylinder head gasket, or even a cracked head. You must go back to the repair shop.

SOURCE: My freelander land rover is making blue smoke

valve seals allowing oil into cylinders
oil ring on piston broken
worn valve guide in head
blue smoke means ur burning oil
black smoke burning to much fuel
white smoke burning coolant
the landrover part makes my wallet hide
leaving it will only foul up your plugs, crud up inside the engine
and eventualy kill it. no quick cheap fix there sorry

Engine run rough and black smoke coming from tail pipe why?

Go to the wreckers car junk yard and see if you can find another module or buy a new one but yes it sounds faulty... modules are non-serviceable so just get another... Run a code reader just to make sure that it is that module thats faulty

Smoke from a side pipe

Leaking exhaust pipes and deflated radiator can be the result of this. Better start with the radiator first and check if its deflated. Also make sure the pipes are tightly mounted and double check any leak.

Smoke coming from engine

Where is the white smoke coming from? Under hood? Out tail pipe? If excessive white smoke from tail pipe, suspect a head gasket failure which in turn will fill the cooling system with exhaust pressure forcing the coolant to come out of the reservoir and resulting in an overheating problem

Smoke coming from engine

Where is the smoke coming from? I mean, is it on the outside of the engine...smoke coming out of the tailpipe (exhaust pipe)...on one side of the engine?

I have white white smoke coming from under the coolant tank, when starting the car cold in the morning, driver side

I was going to say that white smoke wouldn't be oil but I see that you figured that out. Look for loose coolant hose clamps on or near the reservoir or possibly a small crack in the reservoir itself. As a general rule for gasoline engines: White smoke = coolant, Blue smoke = oil, Gray smoke = fuel, Black smoke = "Uh oh, that can't be good." :-)

I have a 2006 Jaguar S-Type, on some times when stopped at lights i get white / blue smoke come from the engine front near side, Jaguar seems to think this is normal, but not to sure , does anyone els

no smoke is normal unless from an exhaust when cold. Sounds like you have an oil leak, some how the oil is dripping onto the exhaust.
No self respecting Jaguar dealer would say this is normal.

Engine continues to run after key taken out and blowing out white smoke

dont worry, the white smoke will be coming from a small 'exhaust' underneath the front bumper - passenger side. this is because your car has a 'fuel burning heater' (FBH) fitted which burns diesel through an auxilary heater to warm the inside of the car quicker.i had the same concerns when i bought my 2004 freelander, i was told that the FBH only comes into operation when the outside temp is less than 5degrees but mines comes on regardless of outside temp!

hope this helps

Thick white smoke coming from exhaust

White smoke usually associated with water or moisture. it doesn't take too much water to produce white smoke. check

1. cloudy oil under oil cap
2. leak through gasket from cooling jacket to combustion chamber
