Parking sensors peugeot 807

The parking sensors on this car don't work. When its in reverse there is a short beep followed by a longer beep. According to the andbook this means a fault is present. I need details of how best to isoloate the actual fault without dismantling the entire system. Any tips please?

SOURCE: parking sensors make a long beep when reverse gear

the park sensors send out a beam and the return signal intensity tells it the distance.if there is dirt or water in the sensor or it is shorted,it will think you are very close to an object and beep like that.there is more than one, disconnect them one at a time,or take them out and measure the comparative resistance.the one that is no good will read different

Continuosly beeping in reverse

Try to clean rear parking sensors. Check also electric cables and connections, clean if necessary. Commons faults are sensors out of order. If one or more sensors faults you hear only a continous constant noise when you put in "R" gear. You need a VAS, VAG-COM, Bosch KTS, ... diagnosis scantool. The factory parking system will be scaned from errors with this instrument, and you will find exactly which sensors are out of order (for example: rear left center sensor, rear right side sensor break off, short to ground or short to plus).
