well i still have the issue with the vents.. i dont hear any hissing for a vacuum leak... as far as the windshield goes there seems to be a little bit of heat coming out by the windshield even with the heater off, it gets foggy cuz its freezing outside so something is comin out of it...

On my 2000 Mitsubushi Diamante I had the same problem, the solution was to reconnect the tan plastic connecting arm from the motor to the air damper. The plastic connecting arm is on the driver side, under the dash, near the floor. It is difficult to reach and I removed a plastic cover under the dash to access it. The plastic arm had become bowed (cheap) and disconnected from the air damper lever. I forced the damper open to bring air through the vents and works fine as it is. I have been driving for 1 year with air only coming out of the dash vents, if I switch to defrost, there still is a small amount of air to clear the windows. I live in South Texas so melting ice is never a problem here.

on my ford the vents were controlled by vacuum (as a lot of cars are now).... listen for a vacuum leak.... usually the default when the vents don't open seems to be defrost.... anything coming out by the windshield ?

SOURCE: Heat wont blow through heater or defroster vents

The door in the heater box is most likely stuck. It is located under the dash on the passenger side

SOURCE: Heater on driver-side blows barely warm air other vents blow cold

the most probabale cause of this would be a disfunctional hear core if you replace your heater your heater will more than likley work the the way it's supposed to

There are seperate blowers for the front and rear air. It is most likely either your blower motor or the resistor, both located under the passenger side dash. I got a blower from a salvage yard for $25, But ended up having to get the resister from the dealership for about $130. Hope this helps.

ONLY WARM AIR FROM HEATER, REPLACED THERMOSTAT, STILL ONLY WARM AIR. UPPER RADIATOR HOSE & HEATER CORE HOSES ARE HOT.

The next possibility, if you haven't already thiught of it, is as simple as making sure there is enough water/antifreeze solution in your radiator. If the level is too low, your hoses will get hot, but there will not be enought water to circulate into your heater core.

1994 Dodge Spirit heater blowing cold but radiator is overheating

1st you need to make sure no air in your system open you radaiator cap and your heater to max and see if air bubles or circulation is going on fill up accordingly otherwise you have blockage in your system or water pump if no circulation ////make sure no bubles all bubles should be gone////look for coolant circulation in your radiator make sure your thermostat is not defective or placed in the right position.

2005 Grand Prix heater works fine when blower is off-air coming thru vent gets hot; once blower is turned on air turns cold. Why?

Sounds like a clogged heater core- insufficient coolant circulating through heater core, and as soon as you blow air past the core, it get cooled off.

You need to replace the heater blower motor resistor. It is located in the air tube between the motor and the center of the heater box, under the glovebox area.

The heater resister switch has gone. You need to strip out the box and put a new switch in which costs around £20
