Question about 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer
Pulled related cb's to no avail.
will a scanner tell the code and from where can i download their meaning?????????
is the problem a lot more probable with the instrument cluster or the floater sending unit in the tank (can this be fixed by lowering the tank or an access cover from inside the vehicle) ????????????
THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It sounds like a broken wire somewhere between the gauge and the sending unit, if not within the sending unit, in the gas tank. And yes, you need to drop the gas tank. There is no access cover inside the vehicle.
Scanning codes will not tell you anything about this.
A Google search may likely give you others experiences, as I fixed an ABS probelm with my 01 Tahoe by searching this way.
A trip to your local repository library may allow you to access the factory service manuals which have troubleshooting charts to help you diagnose and fix the problem, as well as tell you how to disassemble/reassemble the the unit.

a 6ya Mechanic can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Mechanic (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
