Question about 1996 Dodge Ram
The other morning I used my remote to start my 96 dodge ram 1500. When the start timed out and engine shut off the headlights stayed on (but not the taillights). So now the headlights always stay on, the bright light indicator in the dash is always on and the fog light switch doesn't work at all. I am wondering if it is the remote start causing this problem or if something in the light circuit of the truck is cooked.
Hey i had the same problem with mine... its your day time running light box located on the fender well on the drivers side of the vehicle.. it is about 3inches by 2 inches wide.. i just unplugged mine and removed it from the truck.. the only downfall was that my high beam light doesnt come on to let me know that the high beams are on.. the replacement of this unit is around 100 bucks and you really dont need it for the truck to work properly...

Easy way to check this is to go under the dash and unplug the remote start.. if the lights go out it is Remote start related, if not goto your local salvage yard and gran another headlight switch.. should be pretty easy...
