follow top radiator hose to the top of engine you will find it under the thermostat housing make sure you put new one in the correct direction thermostat will usally say to radiator somewhere on the lip
The thermostat on the 2.0 is located on the right front of the engine. It is in the thermostat housing at the engine end of the lower radiator hose. According to the auto parts stores, there is a square thermostat gasket required, however, this is not correct. On the actual thermostat, there is just a rubber gasket that goes around the thermostat itself.
To locate the thermostat, open the hood and support it on the prop rod. Look down at the radiator and follow the large hose from the radiator to the engine. The hose is clamped to the thermostat housing. If you remove this housing, you can access the thermostat.
The thermostat is located on the engine block, where the upper radiator hose connects to the engine. You'll see a large elbow-like component that is attached to the engine with 2 bolts.
Just follow that upper radiator hose and you got the location. When you remove that housing (elbow-like component), you'll see the thermostat. Make sure you note which end of the thermostat is up and which end is down. Don't reverse the install.
