I have the same problem with my 2003 dodge 5.7. It does "buck" then it stalls. It does not stall after everything warms up, but the idle will drop down like it is wanting to die when I come to a stop. Has anyone found a solution yet?

The most common problem of this complaint is the torque converter staying locked up when you come to a stop. it could be a solonoid or bad converter. But this should also happen when the truck is warm. I was wondering if you let the truck warm up before you leave if it has any idle issues? Does the truck buck then stall?

Does it stall at all when warmed up, or only when cold/cool?

My 98 Dodge Ram 1500 with a 318 in it will stall at stop streets only when it is at operating temp. When it is cold it will not stall. The Truck runs good down the road.

Sounds as if you may have a MAP sensor reading incorrectly when warm and causes the stalling. You may also have a vacuum leak that is not noticeable during warm up or while driving.

okay, the o2 code can cause problems, theres a problem with one of the o2 sensors, theres 2 or 4 sensors, the repair was not done right or theres another bad o2 sensor, next thing i would check is the idle air control motor, this sounds like it sticks at time or just stops working, start with these things first,

your problem sounds fuel related chk your fuel pressure. or simply turn key off then to on position (engine off) and see if u can hear your fuel pump run (2-3 sec) then it will turn off.

Grab a can of throttlebody spray cleaner, and remove I.A.C. motor (idle air control) spray it clean especially pintle (pointed end) and port (hole) in came out of. re-install & try, if better for a while then starts to do it again, replace it.

Stalling problem when coming to a stop

Do you know what your AIS motor (automatic idle speed) is on your throttle body.Usually held on with torx screws 2 or 3. Thses are pretty well known for gumming up & sticking. It adjusts your idle automatically under load etc. If your take it off, spray it with throttle body cleaner & be sure to spray some in the port (hole it came out of) before you re-assemble it. Sometimes this will cure it or at least improve it enough that you know your in the right area, if replacement part needed.
