Thats a good thing. Means your fuel system , which is pressurized, is working ok. If it doesn't have suction, it may cause your check engine light on. unless it's causing problems, leave er be good luck hope this helps you. Cheers from Nova Scotia!!

I can't get gas to go in my bmw 323i convertible, help? The gas cap is very hard to get off now and the pump won't suction on when I try to put gas in.

1. Unlock the gas cap. Slip the key into the slot on the center of the cap with the teeth toward the outer circle. 2. Turn the key clockwise. The lock cylinder gives and allows the key to move. 3. Turn the gas cap counterclockwise. Unscrew the cap...------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Radiator goes into the overflow reservoir, but it doesn't get sucked back into the system when it cools

If the radiator pressure cap is good and is sealing correctly then two possible scenarios present.

The first is the return valve of the pressure cap is providing too much resistance so instead of the expanded liquid being drawn back in as the engine cools, all the hoses shrink a little by the equivalent of the expelled coolant.

The second is the possibility of a slight leak of combustion gas into the cooling system causing coolant to be displaced by more than just normal expansion.

Try listening carefully while removing the pressure cap from a stone-cold engine. There should be neither pressure or vacuum. If there is residual pressure the second scenario is most likely and if there is a slight suction the first scenario is the most likely.

If there is neither pressure or suction it is likely the pressure cap is not sealing perfectly and air is being drawn in during cooling and a suction is not happening.

Nissan Altima cranks, but won't start. Open the fuel tank, it starts. Gas tank vent? Clogged vent line? Gas cap?

no it has a closed system so no smell of petrol so their is something wrong with the suction pump and the pipes that come from teh engine compartment

Check engine light came on and they said it was vacuum problem and it waste gas - what can or how can the problem be fixed. It is also squealing - they replaced the trolley pulley and it started to squeal...

Check your belt adjustments for the squealing or replace the belt. As far as the vacuum leak is concerned it could be a leak on any of the vacuum lines. You will need to check the lines manually, start with the lines that connect to the carburetor or injection system. You can use anything that will apply suction on one end and plug the other end with your finger. If you apply suction on the line you should feel it on your finger. Also make sure you test your Fuel cap. I had this problem on a ford Escape and it turned out to be the seal on the Fuel cap.

The engine runs fine until it get to half a tank of gas.

I wonder if it could be that the tank's not getting vented properly... have you tried just taking the gas cap off and replacing it, without adding fuel? is there a suction sound when you take the cap off?
