Not sure of the diagram. You can get vacuum plugs at any parts store and just feel with your fingers where there is airflow, you'll tell when ya find em the car will run much better.

My 1990 toyota corolla idles rough. I raised the idle on the throtle body so engine wont stall. except for idle, car runs fine

Vacuume leak is very probabe, check vacuum hoses for leaks, gasket leak at intake manifold or throttle body etc. I like to use starting fluid and spray around a bit. If you spray it on a vacuum leak, your rpms will noticably go up.

Hi. I have my toyota corolla 90 dx for 2 weeks now from the seller. It was fine, just a little shaky. First time u put gas it was fine for a day but next day i took it in the highway, did speed a little...

A couple of things come to mind here. First, check with the previous owner and find out what octaine number gas he was using. If you are using the wrong octaine gas on a high mileage motor you can get the knocking sound. Second the rough idling may be a vacuum/air leak. Check all your air hoses and connections. If you find any disconnected hoses look for an empty connection. If no connection plug the hose and see if that helps.

First thing I look for in a case like this is the common old vacuum leak.
While the engine is fairly cold and running, take a can of spray carb cleaner and
spray near known vacuum intersects or hose connections. The engine idle should change audibly if a leak is present.
When a vacuum hose gets a bad split or tear, the engine performance goes wacky.
Also look for a loose connection of the air intake hose(large one) or right where the connection is made to the intake. These engines are REALLY touchy where connections are concerned. don-ohio

I have a 1990 corolla carburettor. When its at normal operating condition the car jumps and runs rough. When you accelerate the car runs well. It only plays up when at idle. But when cold it runs very...

Check for a malfunctioning EGR valve. This valve is only selected to perform when the engine is warm. It has a vacuum diaphragm which can crack and lead to vacuum leaks. This will cause rough running. The EGR valve should be vacuum checked to see if this diaphragm is leaking. This valve can also stick open due to carbon deposits. When the valve sticks open, the fuel/air mixture is leaned out and rough running ensues. This problem is practically expected on a vehicle of that age.

Im looking on how to setup the vacuum hoses on a 76 light duty truck with an 81 quadrajet. i changed out the elctric choke and put vacuum on it.

Really not that hard to sort out. You are looking at all the hoses. Stop, one at a time an everything will fall into place.

Aerostarvan runs badly pipe hanging down

Do you mean a rubber hose? There is a vacuum tree near the rear of the engine where several hoses connect. See if it has come loose from that. If so you have a vacuum leak and that would explain the rough running.

1985 Toyota Corolla Intermittently runs rough-no power

Try this: Remove the two (primary & secondary) vacuum diaphram covers & inspect the vacuum diaphrams. If there is any evidence of distortion at the diaphrams, expect to get the condition that you are describing.
