Question about 2001 Pontiac Grand Am SE
These lights came on and they will not go off,i did push the trac off button but did not do any thing,.
The passenger wheel bearing has the speed sensor for the ABS and Traction Control. I bet is bad on yours. I replaced mine on my car and fixed that problem. The part is like $100 in the local Auto Zone. Is held by 3 Bolts that comes off from the back of the Hub Assembly.
You need to remove the wheel, Calipers and Rotor Disk. There is a huge nut that screws on on the front, you need a breaker bar and a metric socket, I think is like 21mm. Get a can of WD40 it will make the job easier. The new bearing comes with Lugs, so you do not need to remove the Lugs from the old bearing.
The job can be done at home with few tools.
A car mechanic will charge Parts Plus labor, like $60 a hr or so.

The reason the TRAC OFF light has come on is most likely because of a problem in the ABS system. When the ABS computer sees a problem, it will disable the traction system. There are several common causes for an ABS problem.
