SOURCE: Dim headlight

This is always caused by a loose or corroded headlight ground wire, check around the head light for a wire screwed to the sheet metal or radiator support.

SOURCE: headlights

Pull the headlight switch and check for a burned connector, this will cause a poor connection and in turn dim headlights or no lights.

SOURCE: the headlights are very dim. not much difference

Have you checked the alignment? Park the car in front of a wall and check the lights direct generally horizontally in front of the car. It may be that they are shining up into the sky making it seem like they are dim.

Headlight bulbs can be lots of different types, xenon, halogen, but never LED. Sidelights are a lot less brighter, they can be simple argon bulbs to LEDs, or even Cold Cathode

SOURCE: 2002 Dodge Ram 2500 Driver's side headlight dim

If the ground is good I would take a careful look at the light socket itself. There may be corrosion inside or on the power wire where it goes into the socket or it may just be making poor contact.
You can get a replacement one at any auto parts store. The last one I got was about $10. Get some heat shrink tube to cover your splices, it does a much better job of sealing the splice than tape. Hope this helps.

Headlights wont work on dim, only bright

Check your head light bulbs, your truck has the dual filiment headlight bulbs one per side which does both high beam and low beam, 9007 bulbs.
If the low beam filiments are burned out only the high beam will work.
Also look into finding out if the headlight switch is gone bad.
The headlight module and or drl module maybe defective.

Dim headlights are too dim with only the small round outside headlights illuminated on my Jaguar 2004 XJ8. Should the two larger, middle headlights also be illuminated?

larger middle lamps are high beams and work in conjunction with outer lamps when highs are engaged. Low beams are outers only.
