Question about 1997 Ford Explorer AWD
1997 Ford Explorer, auto trans, made a whining sound when put in reverse and sometimes while in drive. Had the trans rebuilt and still does the same thing. Mechanic is trying to say it is something else than the trans. Could it be the transfer case? Trying to find out if the trans was never done right.
HAVE YOU TAKEN YOUR FORD BACK TO THE PEOPLE WHO REBUILD YOUR TRANS. FOR A 300 MILE TEST DRIVE? I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AND COME TO FINDOUT THE TRANNY WAS LOOSE ON THE END AND THEY WERE ABLE TO FIX IT AGAIN.
