My truck is hard to crank/start...I have replaced all wires and plugs, cleaned all vaccums, replaced o2 sensor, replaced idle-error control valve and the fuel pressure regulator...have taken to several mechanics and no one can seem to figure the problem out...what else could it possibly be??

If hard to crank some assories like Battery Charger , AC pump, Water pump etc. may be tight. Remove the Belt/s driving these items and crank the engine and see whether the engine turns easily. If so check each item by turning with your hand,

The internal check valve inside the fuel pump is bad causing fuel to drain back to the tank. This situation would cause a hard start because the fuel lines are now empty so the pump has to prime the entire system before the engine will start.

My truck is a 4cylinder but it has 8 spark plugs and wires...if this helps at all??? I have also removed the EGR valve and it runs even worse...The last mechanic I took it to last week said it may have been dumping fuel...the fuel pump has already been replaced once but that was probably about 80,000 miles ago...

Another question...my last mechanic also said to clear the codes from the computer to see if the code re-appears...is there a way to do this without an OBD1 (people say un-hooking neg side of battery etc.)

Have you replaced the coil yet? I assume by all 4 cylinders misfiring you mean P0300 Random Misfire? It could be a number of other things - a faulty fuel injector, coil, etc. Read this article for more info on random misfires - http://www.obd-codes.com/p0300

SOURCE: 1992 gmc chevy 350 wont idle when warm

This could be a number of things but i think that your problem sounds like a vacuum leak or an EGR problem. Try listening for leaks and try un-plugging the EGR solenoid valve one time.

SOURCE: My 1998 ford mustang v6 3.8l .. is hard to start

So what you saying is it's hard to start cold right? Something in computer system not allowing excess fuel to injectors when cold. Probably sensor Get auto electrician to sort it out otherwise you end up replacing things that there is nothing wrong with They got the right gear

hi, i would like to advice you check the electronic idle speed control valve and also check engine coolant temp sensor. The ISC (idle speed control valve) is located somewhere below the throttle valve. the engine coolant temp sensor is located near distributor. it has a two wire connection. the sensor connector is usually green

Cranks but won't start

Depending on the year make and model, a DTC (diagnostic trouble code) would help. Is the check engine light on when it does run? Testing needs to be done. Check for spark at the plug, make sure fuel pressure is what it should be and that the fuel injectors are working. If all that is good, I would check compression and timing.

2.2 litre 1995 gmc sonoma idles rough no trouble code. found hole i brake booster vaccum line fixed that. replaced and changed fuel filter, idle air control valve, got spark at coil packs, put new spark...

Three things you should check using a good code checker which can read sensor outputs - the throttle position sensor (TPS), the mass air flow sensor (MAF) and the EGR valve. While you are at it, replace the PCV valve.

I have a 95 Taurus sho that was not running right when I bought it. Since I have replaced crank and cam sensors, o2 sensors, knock sensor, wiring harness checked fuel pressure, checked compression,...

You did not mention the throttle body or the idle air control valve.
The computer controls idle speed by how much air is allowed to enter the intake manifold thru the throttle body.
If the idle air control valve is faulty, or there is a vac leak, or the throttle body is dirty, the computer can not keep the idle speed at the factory setting.

How do I adjust the idle on a 2000 Chevy S-10 4.3 vortec? Thanks...

If the idle is too high then you either need to clean the throttle body with carb and choke cleaner or repair a vaccume leak somewhere. The throttle-body base gasket is the usual culprit. The throttle position senser should bring your idle back to normal if none of the above is the problem,if not, replace it.
