The drivers side window and the lock/unlock do not work. how do I fix this?

I disconnected the battery to try to fix the problem with my remote starter. by doing so now the drivers side window doesn't work and the lock/unlock buttons do not work.

Disconnecting the battery will not help. You need the battery to operate any of the windows and door locks. Your remote starter won't work without the battery.

There could be a couple of reasons why your door locks and window stopped working. Can you control the other windows and doors from the driver's side door, and do they work? If they do, then the problem is most likely with those particular buttons. You may have to replace the window unit. You can test it, but before you do you should rule out some other possibilities.
Did the window and locks stop working at the exact same time?

this problem has happened before. the fix was to reset the BCM

how do you reset the BCM? I replaced the window regulator and the driver window will not go up or down, none of the door locks work on the panels or on the keyless entry. All of windows work from the door switches.

I bought my 2005 new, and still have it and I have this problem too. I have a GM bullitan on it. There is NO FIX. But, the good news is that the circuit breaker will reste all by itself in a few hours...or a day and all will be ok. What happens is that if you accidently hit both the door lock and the drivers window button at the same time (just resting your arm on the arm rest) then it will pop the circuit breaker and neither your door lock or windo will work.

SOURCE: 2007 gmc yukon denali wont unlock w/ keyfob

Check the buttons.. I have an 06 Grand Prix with the Remote starter on the top and it seems that the conductor on the buttons worn out.. Take the keyfob apart, pull the rubber buttons off the chip, lick your finger and touch the place where the unlock (right side of the fob) would be. That should unlock your doors. I just did it with mine. I would just buy another fob on ebay and change the buttons out.. Hope this works

Hello, please can someone help me. I have a W210 (E200) year 2000. The problem is that my car refuses to lock/unlock with fob. Please note, there is nothing wrong with fob, new batteries and both radio...

probably the FOB, just because other functions work does not mean that the lock/unlock will work. This is the most used function and the one that goes first.

Hello I have a 2006 Mazdaspeed 6 and my buttons on the car are not working but if I use the smart card to unlock/lock it works. And the batteries have been changed. What can I do. Pls help

You must have disconnected your battery for something or your battery died? But to fix, go to all the other 3 windows and push them down until you hear it click twice, then your driver side controls should work again..

Driver side door locking with remote but will not unlock, if i unlock it with key then remote will unlock all other door, if all doors are locked remote will not unlock the car. Once i manually unlock...

it is not the actuators, try a different remote, you may have an issue with the car security system/body computer not functioning on the unlock driver door command, one press of remote is unlock driver door and 2 presses is unlock the other doors.

2005 Colorado drivers side window and remote locking system

Just figured it out and replicated it 3 times..

any type of power/voltage change seems to trigger this issue

The most common symptom is power locks fail and only the driver window quits, however that is on the extended cab.

Steps to fix and it works every time.

take door panel off driver's door
Disconnect the wiring attached to window and power lock control unit
disconnect battery cables
connect the negative to the positive cable(((NO BATTERY CONNECTED)))
This will act to short residual voltage in the system

5 minutes later
place the key in the ignition and turn to the run position
connect the wiring to the window/lock controller
connect the negative cable to the battery
then the positive
open drivers side door
turn key to the off position((do not remove yet)) you should get a series of dings through speakers telling you the key is still in the ignition
once it begins dinging pull the key out and you should hear the door lock solenoids trigger and the windows should work.

Three years and a very unhappy girlfriend who owns the truck. but she's happy now.

make sure than you have not split any fluids on the passenger front door most of the times is where the module to control the windows and doors is located, try by unpluging the batterie and the after a minute plug it back and see what happend but if any of your ft doors have been split with liquid or rain has gone inside then most likelly the module got moisture and not working
