I have a 1998 chevy express van 4.3liters vortec motor.i am getting spark and gas up to the trader wont start. i put a little gas in the intake,it fired right i am thinking it is the fuel...

There is a good chance your injectors are not firing. I would suggest cranking the engine without the air filter housing on the throttle body and see if the injectors are squirting fuel. If not, I believe they are fired off a signal from the distributor pickup.

Engine runs rough and strong smell of gas. clears up when excellerateted

Sounds like there's a leak in the fuel line, or the evaporative emission system is flooded with gasoline and is purging it to the atmosphee.

I have a chevy s-10 4.3 liter vortex engine. I'm getting gas to the fuel pressure regulater inside the intake manifold, but not to the fuel injectors. What controls the opening of the regulater? And where...

First of all the fuel pressure regulator does not have wires. What you are likely referring to is the injectors in the throttle body. If they are not spraying fuel while the engine is turning over then the ECM is not commanding them to do so. Why? A number of reasons are possible, crank sensor, distributor pick-up coil, faulty injector, etc, etc..... This is likely going to be a problem that requires the expertise of a technician.
