Its possible the switch went bad, but more likely the motor is no good. Unplug the motor and put a volt tester or other on it. Turn the key on, but don't start the car, and put the switch in different positions. If there is power to the plug, then you will know its definitely the motor. If no power, then check the fuses. If fuses are good and none are blown, then the switch has gone out.

SOURCE: 2001 pt cruiser no heat

did you check the fluid level by removing the rad. cap? Radiator should be full to top. If Chryslers are low on coolant, the heater will not blow warm air.

SOURCE: 2001 PT Cruiser - blower and power windows stopped

Haven.t fixed it yet, but there is a bad wire or loose connection in a group of wires located behind the fuse panel. In the group of wires one of them is apparently the problem. When I move the wires the blower motor and power windows work, but they eventually stop again. I haven't had time to find and fix the exact wire that's the problem yet, it's not an area that I can easily get to!

SOURCE: 1989 Buick Park Ave heating problems.

check to see if there is a resistor on the blower motor. it should be located either beside or underneath the blower motor.. if that is bad it wont let you select different fan speed settings and if it goes completely out the blower will not work at all.

The system has to see a wide range of conditions before a smog test can be done. On most brands you have to drive at least 50 miles, at various speeds including stop and go, let it idle for 5 - 10 minutes, and run at freeway speed for at least 25 miles. It also has to reach normal operating temp of 195 degrees.

My pt cruiser 06 2.8 turbo started leaking oil?

OK, anytime oil gets into the cooling system or vice versa, there's a strong possibility that there is a leak at the head gasket.

Could have to do with overspeeding the engine.

The cooling system can get up to 14 to 16 psi, enough to burst into the oil lines which run next to the cooling lines in the head and block.

If it's spilling on the front driver's side of the car, then you have some serious problems with this engine.
