Question about 2002 Cadillac Sts
As long as the seat is plugged in the fan continues to run non stop and has killed a few batteries during the winter. I have to keep the seat unplugged at all times. Now the heat on the drivers side of the car is only blowing cold air.

The temperature blend door on the driver's side might be broken or stuck. Also, if this vehicle does not have the correct amount of refrigerant, it will do what you are describing.

Sounds like a Blend door issue, but could be the controller switch, Test ALL modes of operation to see what works and what does not. That should narrow it down a bit. The Blend doors are flap/ doors that regulate air flow, newer vehicles are plastic - electric assemblies ...prone to failure. Any clicking or thumping noises during switching modes and on-off suggest a bad Blend door. Hope that helps...good luck

SOURCE: I have 1998 cadillac STS
this problem is caused by a defective air temp control blend door motor, this door and actuator motor is located inside the dash between the heater core and the AC evaporator core, it shifts airflow through the heater core or the AC core or mixes or blends the two for the desired temp at the outlets, the motor will have to be replaced. This is a very common issue.

sounds like it might be low on coolant. Low coolant levels will stop the flow and circulation to the heater core, and also might be the cause of overheating
