Speedometer will not work in mits galant with a aftermarket radio

Well the speedo problem could well be behind the actual speedo gauge. Theres a long square shapped plastic piece on the end of the cable the fits in to the back of the gauge, as it turns it makes the hand on the dial read the speed, In most cases the plastic bit breaks away from the cable which will make the speedo read zero.You will have to get another speedo cable and replace it the same route as your original one.You have to take off the dash surround to get the gauge cluster out for a start to see if its broken at that end.

hi, the problem you are describing sounds like the starter motor has packed up or a wire might have even come off the back of the starter if your sure the battry is fully charged then the chances are the problem is with the starter motor, that is where i would start looking anyway

need to notify a dealer for the code-- but call first they can also advise how to retrieve the radio id code or can advise of using the vin number of vehicle

You found out the hard way that all the electronics in newer cars are lijnked togeather, my advice replace the radio with the factory unit.
