Question about 2001 Hyundai Accent

Slow acceleration my daughter has a 2001 hyundai accent, we notice that when we try and get up to high speeds she really is sluggish, wounce she gets going she is fine.Is their anything i can check or do to correct this. Do these cars have oxygen sensors? Thank you

Yes, all these newer cars have them, plus a dozen other sensors.
Try having the throttle position sensor checked, and have a fuel pressure test done.Has it had a tune up lately, plugs wires, and fuel filter changed? Without doing a lot of testing to pin point the problem, you will be replacing things you don't need. (expensive).
A tune up would be a start, then have those other things checked.

it means you are doing irrepairable damage to the catalytic converter, you should take your car and have the trouble codes retrieved, sounds like you need an Oxygen sensor

i think ur tranny started sliping then after reving it high, u must have over heated the motor causing it to puke out some coolant.

chances are it is just a duff switch(hopefully)also check the fluid level,do not overfill.....

Look for a vacuum leak somewhere. This is the most common problem for a high idle.
