SOURCE: air stopped blowing on ac/heater

Check your fuses. If you have a test light, unplug the blower motor, start the car, turn the fan on, if you have power to the blower plug, the blower motor is bad. If no power, if it's not a fuse, check the blower motor resistor. Should be mounted right next to the blower motor. It is inserted into the evaporator box

SOURCE: 2001 Audi A4 heater blows

The EVAP core (the part that cools the air) is similar to a dehumidifier. As the outside air passes through the EVAP core it removes the moisture from the air. The moisture collects on the EVAP core and eventually drains out of the EVAP drain which is usually under the passenger side of the car. This is normal any time the a/c is on.

I'm getting an intermittent loud flapping sound when the AC is turned on my 2009 Smart ForTwo

Question. Is the flapping at a very fast pace that would indicate the speed of a fan blade hitting something? If so, you may be on to something there such as a misplaced gasket or something has dropped/fallen into the blower box via a vent.

If it is not that speed then see the following..

Hope I can give you some direction. Speaking from a generic sense all ac/heaters these days have a door or doors in the blower box that control air flow from the main part of the box to different positions when you ask for vent, heater, mix, defrost etc..

Most these days are operated with a small electric servo/motor and unfortunately the mostly have plastic gears that wear and can "thump-thump" as the motor cycles trying to open or close the flapper door.

Try to change the air direction from Max AC to regular ac to heater, defroster, bi-level etc all with the AC switch in the on position if you have a separate on/off switch.

Listen to the sound and see if it comes and goes with a different location of the selector switch.

One last question. Does it happen at idle or driving down the road at any particular speed?

Lets start with that and see what happens. This is interesting.

Good luck!

Air conditioner problem

Before you $pend big buck$, first check if the vents are blowing warm air with the AC off and the temp all the way cold. My 2009 fortwo was doing this and it ended up that the flapper valve that mixes the air was being held open by debris (leaves) a little ways on the heater side, so hot air was always getting through. Much easier to check this before going after more expensive repairs.
Anyway, to answer your question, the suction (low pressure) fitting is behind the front passenger side turn signal. Remove the grille and then the turn signal and you should be able to access it. If you have huge hands like me, it's a tight squeeze. I ended up attaching a flex hose to the fitting and moved it to a more accessible spot...
