Question about 2003 Suzuki Aerio

2 Answers

We have a Suzuki Liana 2001 model and has only done 56,000kms. We have only owned it for a few months and has been running perfectly up until a couple of weeks ago. We're 20 mins into a trip to the Gold Coast and the car just seems to lose power. We have had an auto electrician look at it and everything has come up fine. Could it be a problem with the fuel pump or something related to theh fuel?????

It Definately sounds like the Fuel Pump. Maybe even the Fuel Filter.

Check the crank angle sensor. The problem of losing power accompanied by jerks and stops is a sign of the CAS playing up. Replacement needed. You have the M16A 1.6 engine. A Suzuki car parts outlet should be able to help.
Check back on earlier Fixya solutions. The topic has been described in detail anong with the fix.

Cheers

I have a 2001 Suzuki liana 1.6l and when taking off from the lights the car faltered and now has a lack of power.

scan it yet? that be first.
you put in new cop coils before new spark plugs/
why?

btw that effect is called misfire, when it misfires, power drops.
example on a 4 cylinder if 1 goes dead, its not 3cylinder engine
with 1/4 loss of power (its less due to 3 dragging 1 dead horse)

There are no less than 50 causes of misfire
#1 all time reasons , bad spark plugs.
due to never ever getting tuneup on time.
#1 for 100 years, and running.
your engine dont read statistics so can be 49 more.

Where is crank sensor liana 1.6

welcome to the USA forum , is your car USA.
no.
my guess is it has the M16a engine
see bottom left CKP #5
The M class engines , its on the PULLEY side
and facing said pulleys, (regardless of car it is)
its to the right of the pulley
that means the crank tone (teeth) wheel is behind said pulley on end of crank shaft.

we do have swifts here with m15 or M16
here is the CKp sensor on the M151af3207a-b3d0-4af0-9cf7-86ddd395ba79.jpg

About suzuki liana

I haven't seen or heard of common problems with Suzuki. Their parts wear out like the others. Only thing I don't like is having to buy about every part for a Suzuki from the dealer. Not much after market parts out there for Suzuki.

Suzuki liana diagnostic port location

pretend we are blind.
what country.??
06, Liana.
what engine, Gas or Diesel???
there are 2 systems. OBD1 and OBD2
the hood stickers usually tell you which it is. (obd2 certified)
if car is OBD2 cert then any cheap but new scan tool works.
if car is USA car the OBD2 port is near the knees, 16pins
the spec, call out 1meter from steering shaft center. USA spec.
OBD2 is a USA spec. so...... where are you......

see here the car and all the variants.
see why we dont know, until you say so.

SUZUKI LIANA 2002 ENGINE CUTTING OUT INTERMITTANTLY

Not sure if you have already figured this out- or just sold your car, but I have been having the same problem and had a bit of a search around forums etc. Looks like it is the Crank Angle Sensor which needs to be replaced. I am about to go and get my car fixed so fingers crossed this is the miracle cure. Here is a link to the forum discussion on the issue.

Does a 2002 Aerio have a timing chain or a belt?

Also known as a Liana in some markets, this may have either a "G" series or a "J" series motor in it. This can be checked by finding the engine number - either G16B123456 or J18A123456. The G series is belt driven, while the J series is chain driven (2 chains).

Suzuki liana 2003 only done 14000 km will only run for 20 minutes

Have you checked all fuses for the cooling fans? Seems to be that the car is warming up to temp and then some, and protecting itself from overheating by shutting down the engine.
