Question about 2000 Volkswagen Beetle
I have a 2000 beetle and something keeps draining the battery, we noticed that the door panel light on the drivers side isn't going out and the interior lights are staying on even when the door is shut, also the alarm will not activate, It acts like its not computing that the door is shut, what should we look for??
I have the answer to your problem. One of 2 things. Cut wiring harness in the door accordain between the frame and the door. Or most common a defective door latch. The door latch contains the microswitch that tells the comfort module that the door is open or closed. If the lights stay on this means the switch thinks the door is always open. Also the alarm will not activate. First make sure no cut wires then if not replace the door's defective latch.
