Question about 1998 Chevrolet Lumina

1 Answer

No dash light or tail lights on a 1998 chevy lumina

I have no dash lights nor do I have tail lights when I start the car. I have replaced the #1 fuse (15amp) but still nothing.I read the diagram for fuses and am unsure as to which ones if any control the tail lights. Or is this something more than a fuse.. Thank you so much for any help you can offer... Mary in Nova Scotia

This sounds like the headlight switch itself.

1999 chevy lumina headlight

There should be a fuse for the dash lights and one for the tail lights.
A mechanic would check for voltage for each circuit at the headlight switch and go from there.

Dash lights and rear running lights will not work on 1998 chevy Lumina

Most likely a fuse. There should be a fuse panel either near the drivers or passenger side kick panel on the floor and/or in the front engine bay. Check all the fuses and replace the one that is blown.Same thing happened to me a few weeks ago. It was an easy fix but too some time to look at each fuse.

There may be a relay somewhere. Try rotating the bright dim switch for the dash lights.
