SOURCE: car stalls in traffic on a hot day. it sputters

try by replacing thermostat and the radiator pressure cap, this may be just the fix! make sure coolant level is fine. it sounds like it has to cool down for at least 10-15 minutes before restarting. god bless!!

Instrument panel problem--possibly loose connection or poor ground--also have park light switch tested--may be worn out.

Ignition Timing Diagrams for Mazda 323 1990

I am not sure why you would need a diagram for the ignition timing?

I have no access to data on this computer but mostly even the best data books simply provide the written location of the marks and the basic, stroboscopic and a few auto-advance details. In some cases there must be some preparation to ensure accurate timing. Try the link below

Mazda 323 stalls intermittently or runs roughly at start up

Try looking for a vacuum leak somewhere close to but after the Mass Air Flow sensor. This can cause both a bad idle and stalling.

How to test a 1988 mazda 323 electronic ignition module and replace it, the car just suddenly died. It has new rotor, cap and plug wires. New plugs too.

I had that problem on my 1991 Mazda MX6. Indeed, it was the ignition module. As I recall, I was able to test the old one at an "Auto Zone" store near me. The problem was, however, that it tested "good" there and so I had the dilemma of trusting my instincts which told me it was bad, since I had eliminated other logical alternatives (as it appears you have as well). I strongly believed that the failure was intermittent/heat related, as I was in fact able to drive the car the next day from the parking lot I had left it at, back to my house (in order to remove the module in the convenience of my own driveway) to take it to be tested. Another clue that it was a heat-related intermittency, was that the clowns who put it in at the mazda plant had forgotten to put any heat-sink grease on the module prior to installing it...bad news. So I made the decision to risk the $98 on the new module (non-refundable, on electrical parts) and buy the new module in spite of the old one testing "good". I installed the new module, WITH the included heat-sink grease...and drove that car for another 75,000 miles, with no more ignition troubles!

I cant get the car to start the starter is working, i have changed the sparkplugs, and it is gitting fule. plug wires look good still, but havent changed them yet.

Hmmm.. looks like ignition prolem!

If ur 1986 323 has contact point and condenser in ur distributor, check that and replace if possible!
If u have an electronic ignition, the fault will be the ignition module!
Check if there is any SPARK coming out from ur SPARK PLUGS and CABLE!
tell me more!
