Question about 2003 Chrysler Sebring
2003 Chrys Sebring 2.4 sohc [mitsubishi eng]
#1 & #3 cyl's dead
disconnect #1 & #3 inj wiring, engine does not change. Like cyl balance test has 180 lbs compression on all cyl's. Proper fuel pressure, spark on all 4 cyl's.
Have changed plugs, wires, & coils. Swapped dead cyl #1 injector with good running cyl #2 cyl #1 still dead
Replaced cam sensor performed noid test all injectors noiding. Replaced plugs & wires multiple times has good spark on all cyl's
Spark seems to be hotter as you let off on key like an old dodge would do when ballast resistor was bad.
Please help me going out of my mind. Next thing to do change crank shaft position sensor. Does this vehicle have an ignition module and could this be the problem? Is this or computor.
It sounds like you may have the wires on the wrong coil. It should be #1 on the #4 coil, and the #3 wire on the #2 coil. you probably have them backwards so 1 and 3 are firing on the exhaust stroke.
the firing order is 1-3-4-2.
they should be hooked like this.
