My jeep keeps stalling while driving and not starting. Have to wait 5-10 minutes and will restart. Check engine light came on and AutoZone stated it was the cam sensor. Where is it and how to change it.

does it have a serpentine belt?,check tensioner pully.
I just fixed this on my son's car.
I shut engine off making sure to not get any on belt or pully contack surface,i sprayed licquid wrench on it where the berrings should be,it quited right down, may need new one anyhow but that is what it was.
I found it using a lenth of garden hose held up to my ear, be carefull of moving parts!

Must i remove the radiator, the grill, and the fan, in order to change the fan (serpentine) belt on the 1996 Grand Cherokee Laredo?

Absolutely not.. It will come out by releasing tension on the belt and working it around the pulleys..It's tight but it will come.

Hi i have a 1999 jeep grand cherokee laredo do i turn the screw counter clockwise on the tensioner pulley to remove

The opposite direction the pulley turns. However, if you are trying to get the serpentine belt on or off, this will help. It's easy and doesn't require a prybar.

  • Get a 14mm or 9/16" socket and a long handled ratchet or breaker bar.
  • Get the belt around all the pulleys except the A/C compressor or Alternator.
  • The tensioner pulley is near the Alternator toward the center of the engine. It's on a spring loaded arm. Get your socket on the center nut of this pulley.
  • Slowly pull the ratchet toward the center of the engine. The pulley will pivot on the arm allowing you to get the belt on the final pulley.
  • Slowly release the tension.
  • You're done
