My 01 LS is still spuddering when I drive mainly when going up hill just a quick little spudder here and there already replaced the fuel pump and filter not getting any codes. The random spudders are driving me crazy.

I solved this problem by stopping up any air leaks in the plastic air intake. Also changed the air filter and made sure my cooling system was bled properly

I'm having the same problem, but it also spudders when im stopped at light. It starts to spudder after i've driven for at least 15 minutes.I've already had complete tune up about 3 years ago,all the coils were replaced. It cost about $1000 for tune up

Mine only has done it 1 time and it was like a jerking feeling. Then today I found out the rear end is going out and its about $1000.00 to fix it. Are Lincolns known for having this problem too???

Most likely caused by a failing coil pack. The dealer can do what is called a stress test on them to see if they are bad or not but this is pretty labor and time extensive because they have to be removed one at a time to test them. If you have access to a scan tool that will read mode 6 data it may show which cylinders are showing some miss fires and you can try and just replace the ones that show a miss fire and see if that works.

What gear to drive in D-4 or D-5? a lincoln Ls

D5. This will use all 5 gears. D4 will not shift into 5th (overdrive). This causes higher revs on the highway, more noise and less fuel mileage. D4 is only really used when going down long hills for better engine braking. Leave it in d5 and let the cars computer do the shifting for you.

I have a 2003 Lincoln LS and about two months ago it started shaking when i step on the gas and it slowly got more dramatic! now its completly lost power and its very loud and doesnt go past 10Mph and the...

First you stop driving a vehicle with those issues.

The shaking could be several things. The EGR Valve,if some slamming and banging, type symptoms, especially going up hills.

Loss of power could be the TPS Sensor and a bad COP Ignition Coil.

Very loud --What?

High RPM ,as you already know ,could be the trans slipping. Another in a long list of LS issues. That would be a bad Trans Solenoid Pack.

I have a 2004 LS and had all of them, happen.

You need to pull codes, before you start to troubleshoot thoses items.
I would imagine your driving around with the MIL Light ,light on the dash?

Get codes, give them to me, I'll help you out. Do not drive it, untill it is properly repaired. The LS is a very, very complicated high tech vehicle.

aif it is the fuel pump, it is located inside the gas tank as part of a unit called fuel pump module. this module houses the fuel level sender/float also.
