Here's a link that may be of some assistance to you, but if your in doubt, 5-10 minutes at a shop should be all it takes a mechanic to check & adjust it for you. There is an old tried & true way without the use of a timing light, if your interested in trying it. There are other things to take into consideration also, as in if it's carburetor, air.fuel mixture adjustments, if vehicle makes a lot of short trips, may be carboned up inside etc. Maybe getting back to us with more particulars, on engine etc.and your level of experience will help.

Have a 1986 toyota corolla, carburated, cooling fan is always on and i cannot find the short that is draining the battery, need basic simple help.

NOT A SHORT IN THE CIRCUIT! MORE LIKE A FAULTY THERMOSTATIC FAN SWITCH,ON THE BOTTOM OF THE RADIATOR .Or a sending unit that is grounded all the time.

What is the easiest way to remove a Toyota corolla ignition barrel please? 86 hatchback

the easiest way is to get someone else to do it but I imagine that you want to tackle the problem yourself. if it is on the steering column you have to remove the plastic cowling covering the shaft, this will expose the barrel which should just unbolt, I am only guessing as to where the ignition lock is, if it is in the dash you may have to remove items under the dash to expose the barrel to remove it

1999 Toyota Corolla Seca - hatchback. the tail

If you put your foot on the brake, the tail lights and parking lights will still come on. Possibly your brake is sticking. Check to see if it is and if it is put WD40 for a quick fix. See a tech for them to fix your brake alignment. Good Luck!
