Did you try checking for spark at the sparkplug end, as in using insulated screwdriver & holding it close to rocker cover or similar? Have you checked timing marks & distributor rotor location etc? Assuming you know what I'm talking about.

I would check the timing chain/belt. chances are it could be either broken or jumped a tooth.

MY 1985 Stanza keeps turning over but won't start up and it was running just fine a little bit ago. my friend said it may be that i have water in my gas line and just need some evaporator but i would like...

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome. You need fuel, fire, and air to start a vehicle. You need to check the fuel pressure and check for spark to start out. It may be water in the tank. If you think it is possible, drain the tank. Check and make sure the fuel pump is working. If it is not, check the fuses/relays, and reset. You should hear it come on for a second when you first turn the key over. Inspect your fuel filter, gas lines, and fuel injectors also. If the fuel checks out, start looking at the ignition system. Check your timing belt/chain and make sure it didn't break. You need to test for spark. If you don't have spark, check your plugs, coils, wires, coil packs, distributor, dist.cap, and rotor. It can be a cam sensor or a crank sensor. Any of these parts can cause the vehicle to not start. They will all need tested. The best way to go about this, if the check engine light is on, is getting error codes of the computer. It might show the problem part.

Truck wont crank. we have put new distributor cap, rotor button, coil pack, plugs, wires, and fuel pump. we also checked our firing order.

you said you repl dist cap that means you don't have a crank sensor you have electronic ing module. remove your elec ing module have it tested most auto parts stores could test your module, or check your coil at the neg terminal. should have power. if not you lost your primary volt from your batt.your secondary power is coming from your electronic ing module from the module to the pos terminal on the coil, when the eng cranks, from the coil to the dist cap , from the dist cap center to the rotor then out to the plugs, this all happen pervided the timing belt or timing chain is ok. the cumbustion chainber needs 3 things , thats fuel, air, and spark.

Im having problems finding the correct order for my plugs on a 1987 nissan stanza?

the firing order is 1-3-4-2 with #1at the end of the motor were the pulleys are.usually on the distributor cap #1 is marked and i think the distributor rotates clockwise.if you pull the cap and crank the motor over you can see the direction of rotation.then insert the wires accordingly to the order on the cap.

I had the same problem last year mine turned out to be a crank sensor I don't know if that is your problem for sure mine wouldn't send any spark from the coil to the spark plug replaced crank sensor inside distributor and fired right up the dealership called it a cam sensor my book called it a crank sensor either way its in the distributor

Engine not getting fuel

might look at the spark plug wires and plugs make sure none of the wires are burned or cracked destributer cap could also be a culprit or the rotor or the coil .
