Question about 1995 Chevrolet Caprice Classic

Car heat i got my radiator flushed and changed, got a new thermostat, and heater core flushed. but the heat comes on warm and when it gets hot (engine) it blows cold. if the theory of one hose is very warm (problem being under the dash) and both hoses are cold (problem being the engine) what are the possible answers for either engine or dash problems so i would know

Park your unit on a slight incline, start cold w/ radiator cap removed and interior heat on full bore. This will burp or release your air from your cooling system. Add 50/50 until radiator is full. When you replace any good amount of coolant in post 90's vehicles it must fill in that position. You also may have pushed some gunk around, flushing, clogging a water jacket or heater core. Hopefully helpful!!!!

could have air lock or heater core plugging up. heater cores should be back flushed.when car is hot touch one heater hose at a time both should be fairly hot if both hot then the problem is temp control.

When the coolant flush was done, did you have the thermostat changed as well? I would have the thermostat replaced. If the temperature gauge was reading properly, but you still had warm, not hot air, it would lean more towards the heater core being clogged, but that deosn't seem to be the issue your having, so i would go with the thermostat replacement. And whereever you have the repairs done at...make sure they fully bleed all the air out of the cooling system, this could also cause poor warm-up / heating problems. Hope this helps...

Drained radiator added prestone Radiator flush refilled and started overheating, drained radiator replaced thermostat and now I get no heat from heater,Radiator water is hot


disconnect the heat hoses going into fire wall , put hose into one with pressure and flush as it sounds like it could be bloked in the heater core,the other thing that could be the problem be the hot ,cold switch as it restricts the flow to makes the heater hoter or colder , it might need tlc or replacing as it is manaul not elec

I put a new thermostat in my 1994 ford escort,and still dont have warm heat while my heater is on. How do I test to see if I have a bad waterpump?


If it where your water pump isthe vehicle would overheat. After you replaced the thermostat do you run the engine at idle with the radiator cap removed until the radiator fan came one? This will help push the air out of the system. There are two other possibilities. 1. The heater core is plugged. Back flushing the heater core may help remove the built up debris and get you heat again. 2. The blend door may not be fully transitioning from cold to hot. You should be ale to hear a district change in how the air sounds when switching from full hot to full cold. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to answer them. Heater dont blow hot air even after it gets warm


mine was same way for a year... tried several things but finally we disconnected hoses under hood and flushed out heater and now works good as new...... hope it helps

No heat , replaced radiator , water pump, rad. cap , hoses and flushed system twice.blows cool air.whats left?


Thermostat.? if you haven't? Do it first then try it. While the car is running for a while touch the heater hoses that lead to the firewall. if one is cold and one is hot? You have a blocked Heater core. Follow the hoses back to the engine. Unconnect them both. By using a garden hose flush out the heater core do one side and then reverse by doing the other hose Lots of junk will come out so be care ful. Mistake people make is "Flushing the system" That doesn't mean your flushing the heater core.
Seeing that you have done everything else it could be the thermostat which you didn't list or the heater core being clogged. When you finished installing the thermostat and flushing the heater core out. Replenish the coolant system . If you have a bleeder on the thermostat housing? use it . loosen it and top off the fluid until you see fluid comeout of the bleeder. The system being air bound would cause no heat..

Replaced thermostat and flushed out heater core 3 times 3 times it was cloggged, flushed system twice got good radiator flow and ther very hot just heat like luke warm one line in to core hot one oming out...


If the heater core is not damaged or leaking ie: if you don't see coolant on the INSIDE of your windshield or coolant on the floor inside the car then chances are you may just need to BLEED the radiator.

remove radiator cap

Fill coolant resovoir to the cold line if the engine is cold from sitting overnight.

Start engine with cap off

Wait till engine gets hot

While waiting you will see a big gurgle of air bubbles come out and the coolant level will drop

Fill the radiator with more coolant to compensate.

When the fans come on and it stops gurgling air install the radiator cap

You are done

Watch the coolant level for the next few days and top off in the resovoir as needed to keep it filled.

Your heat should be very hot now providing you installed the correct oem thermostat correctly.

No heat is there a fuse 2003 f250 is there a fuse for heater


i don't know realy if there is a fuse (though i doubt it) but issues with heatting may be this will help.

If the carpet under the heater core is damp, or if antifreeze vapor or steam is coming through the vents, the heater core is leaking.
Remove it and install a new unit (most radiator shops will not repair a leaking heater core.
If the air coming out of the heater vents isn't hot, the problem could stem from any of the following causes:
  • The thermostat is stuck open, previnting the engine coolant from warming enough to carry heat to the heater core. Replace the thermostat.
  • There is a blockage in the system, Preventing the flow of coolant through heater core. Feel both heater hoses the firewall. They should be hot.if one of them is cold, there is an obstruction in one of the hoses or in the heater core,or the heater control valve is shut. Detach the hoses and back flush the heater core with a water hose. If the heater core is clear but circulation is impeded, remove the two hoses and flush them out with a water hose.
  • If flushing fails to remove the blockage from the heater core, the coremust replaced.

If u have issues with heatting may be this will help.
