My controls for my heat, ac, vents will not blow air.I Ieave the switch to the heat to the on position ocassionally when I drive some where it will start blowing out of the blue but the next time I get in the vechile its not working again. Is it the fan switch that needs replaced or something else?

It does not sound like a motor is running to the fan you hear nothing.

thanks for all the info. let me explain a little more detailed about what this blazer has done the last couple of years.just to make sure your advice is still the same. the first thing that happened that i was aware of was the windshield wipers quit working for about 3 weeks of course during the spring rain season then they started working on their own again. last summer the ac quite working on a very hot day for a few weeks again and started working on its own again. now in the middle of winter the heat will not work it has not worked for almost a month now. but driving down the road it came on a couple of times at random. i leave the heat control and fan control to the on positions just in case it will come on. in ways it seems like it could be electrical.what do you think?

is a resistor on the blower fan for my heater & ac like a in line fuse.if so can it be taken out and bypassed to make my fan work, or is this not wise to do?

Yes the heater controls are vacum however the blower motor is not. a new control panel is an option and may fix it. if it was my blazer i would first check the fuse boxes onder the hood and in the side of the dash driver side. if they are good i would go to the nearest auto parts store and buy a test light. this will aid you in making sure what the problem is before you go spending money on replacement parts. the blower motor is in one of two places. its most likely under the dash on the passenger side. there is a cover that you will have to remove directly under the glove box. once removed you should see a large red and a large black wire. these are the power and ground for the blower motor . in some gm's these wires go into a resistor. the harness plugs into the resistor and the blower motor wires come out of it. ok now that we are a little bit familiar with our suroundings the red wire i told you about is the hot wire if you ground the clamp on the test light to the door hindge. (make sure its a good ground by touching the positive batter terminal. if the test light lights its a good ground )now unplug the blower motor and touch the metal posts in the end of the plug that belong to the red wire. if it lights when the key is on and the blower control is on in all posisions you need a blower motor. if it does not then you need a blower motor resistor.

If the heat controls are like the 98 blazer ..all the controls except the temp knob are run on vacuum lines.
I have problems like that . I went to a boneyard and got another control panel

99 chevy blazer blows heat only sometimes

You need to check for a loose ground again. The dash seems to have a loose ground. Your heat and ac are controlled by motors that get input from your switch. You might try following that harness and see if there is a loose ground. Other than that I don't have a clue. You might also check near the firewall and make sure the ground strap there was bolted to the engine.

1996 chevy blazer my air on heater will not blow

the idea of the switch is run on vacuum and is not making contact with the switch it self either worn contacts in the switch itself **** as an obstruction as well or the vent door is stuck in just that position either behind the glove box or the ash tray are the vacuum lines one of them may be pinched off or the door needs a bit of help until you can free it up

Your heater valve is stuck open, also in a pinch you can crimp off your hose to the heater coil at fire wall. Try to find the heater valve vacumb hose under the hood see if it is bad and fixit. or some models have a cable to the valve could be broken.

Dash Vents wont blow as selected

THE COMPRESSOR IS SUPOST TO RUN NOT MATTER IF IS IN HOT OR IN COLD MODE SOME TIME THERE IS A POSITION WHERE THE A/C WILL BE OFF AND THIS IS ON THE KNOB CONTROL WHERE YOU SET DEFROST AR FT VENTS
ALSO ON THE THE SWITCHING FROM DASH TO FLOOR CHECK FOR ANY VACIUM LEAKS FROM THE ENGINE COMPARMENT SINCE MOST OF TIMES THIS IS CONTROLED BY VACIUM ACTUATORS
