2000 Daewoo Leganza BRAKE LINE replacement...

Brake fluid is rapidly being depleted due to a massive hole to the brake line. I need to know what size the brake line is so I can have it replaced immediately!!

This is for the rear right brake line, not the hose.

I came here for the same problem. After several trips into the cold I found it. If it is the same as the 2000 Leganza, it is black, located on the drivers side, right knee, pointed down, and attached to the dash,

The Only way you can legally get a copy is to go to your local library and checkout a Chilton's manual. It is copy writ ted material and am not supposed to transmit via electronic internet, As well you don't say what section you need. Engine Harness Charging system or Chassis harness, You may be able to go to your local dealer and ask them for a copy, They can print it out for you.

Usually daewoo prints the code on a sticker on top of the radio. Pull off the dash cover and look it to see if you can see the code. Or pull out the radio and see if it is there.

I would sugest it is to do with the brakes. Check the master cylinder to see if it is empty. You need to find out why the pedal is going to the floor. If parked on concrete look behind all wheels for brake fluid. I think you probably had rapid fluid loss due to broken brake line etc...

Brake pedel fades

Chances are you have a small pin sized hole in your brake lines were your fluid id slowly leaking loosing brake pressure. I would fill the master cyl. full then have a friend look under your car while u step on the peddle to see if u can see any brake fluid leaking anywere. If there is none i would try bleeding the brakes. There could be air in your brake lines also causing this to happen.

Brake fluid is leaking from what appears to be some type of small (index finger size) filter in the brake line under the drivers side passenger door. I've never heard of a filter in the brake line,...

i think what your referring to is a proportioning valve that regulates the pressure to the brake that the line goes to,this helps regulate brake pressure to all the wheels so they are the same during braking so there is no wheel lock up while the other wheels don`t lock up.this is a common place for the fluid to leak out when the car gets old enough due to environmental conditions such as winter driving, corrosion, wet weather (lots of rain),salt conditions(living near salt water),it will have to be replaced and the brake lines should be checked for condition as they may need replacing as well.

This type of problem can occur if the wrong fluid has been used at some earlier stage,in which case all seals need to be replaced along with master cylinder overhaul.

I can not stop, and i have checked my brake fluid and my repair man said i dont need brakes could this be the brake line is broke

If a break line was broken the fluid level would deplete ..................If work has been done to the breaking system, you may have incountered air in the sistem which would have to be bled out, and if not it could be the brake booster itself.............Hope this helps.

I would replace the master cylinder. If there isn't a massive leak in your lines chances is are it's the master cylinder or the brake booster. Cylinder is an easier job. Try a junk yard if your looking to get it cheap.

Brake line replacement

what i usually do if the money is available is purchase the brake lines in all sizes from the auto parts store and return any unused parts to the auto parts store, for a refund. they usually know the sizes you need ; you could also do the front first then the rear, or replace one line to get the size, also need a tubing bender to bend the brake lines, 'bleeder screws are usually three choices or go to ford or mercury, once you get started its not too bad, beware of compression fittings (unsafe to do it that way) Good Luck .

Ok my brakes go all the way to the floor i do not know if it is the brake buster or the brakes.

Ok most likely its NOT the brake booster, some of the most common reasons for your symptoms are: a leaking line or wheel cylinder, you may see fluid on the ground or on the inside of a wheel. If you cannot find any external leaks, remove the brake drums and carefully inspect for any evidence of fluid leakage from the wheel cylinders also carefully inspect the front brake calipers for any fluid leaks repair or replace with new parts never use used brake parts under any condition, and if the level in the master cylinder remains full you have no leaks any where, then you have a master cylinder that has failed internally, Change the master cylinder and bleed the system.
