SOURCE: HHR back hatch problem

There is a small hook on the right(driver side) of the latch that you can push with a screwdriver (it is hard to see you have to poke around a little)after you take the panel plug out of the rear door cover.I have the same problem I found that that the coil has become week and it does not have enough power to push the lath open. SOURCE: Need to jumpstart my 2006 hhr, key is stuck in

The ignition key will not come out of the ignition cylinder with a bad battery. There are jump post to the battery so you do not have to remove the battery cover to jump the car. Once you open the engine hood, look at the battery cover and look for the positive jump post, it will be marked and the ground will be anywhere you can ground the jumper cable in the engine bay. Once you have the engine running or you connected the jumper cables with the other car running, you can remove the key's from the ignition. Good luck and take care not to damage the pass lock system in your ignition lock.

How do you open the back door (no manual)

Rear hatch is locked or unlocked with a key. (if equipped) • To open the rear hatch, insert the key into the lock, turn it to the unlock position and pull up the rear hatch by pressing the handle (DOOR). You can also lock/unlock the latch (but not release it) with the central door lock system. • If unlocked, the rear hatch can be opened by pressing the handle (DOOR) and pulling the hatch up. • To close the rear hatch, lower and push down the rear hatch firmly. Make sure that the rear hatch is securely latched.

Hatch won't unlock

Donald: Here are some comments on SubaruForester.org : "We just got a 2007 Subaru Forester> and we absolutely love it.

I was wondering if anybody out there has a solution to this small gripe:

The only way to open the rear hatch is to first unlock the driver's> side door, then hit the unlock all button, then walk back and open the rear hatch. It sure would have been nice if the rear hatch had a slot for the key, or there was a button on the remote you could press.

Anybody else have this gripe, and is there a solution?
---------
Two presses of "unlock" on the key fob unlocks all 5 doors.
--------------------------
If it has a key, try that.
==========
My only suggestion is double-clicking the unlock button, while standing next to the rear hatch. I know that on my 2003, it's sometimes a matter of timing.
==================
I remember reading somewhere (can't recall where) that sometimes
if you are parked on uneven ground the rear hatch can be a problem
to open. If you are on uneven ground, try moving the Foz to a more
even place.

Have a 2006 chevy hhr LT back hatch door wont lock or unlock.All other doors do with both key and inside lock.Hatch wont budge?

There is a manual release on the inside of the hatch door.
Somewhere in the center of the door under an oval cover plate you can open it with a screwdriver.

Cant get rear hatch open on 2006 chevy hhr

The switch behind the chrome trim may have gone bad. There were issues on early models with moisture getting in behind the rubber pad. Shorting the switch. I do not know of any manual release procedures. There is an update on the harness and switch assy from the dealer. Not uncommon.

Rear hatch latch was broken, replaced but now when the lock button is pressed on the transmitter the rear hatch releases and opens.

sounds like the linkage is hookup wrong and may be backwards, the release and lock/unlock linkage are in the wrong holes reverse the two and try it, this sounds like the problem.

Mini (bmw) hatch jammed

Hi eze-e, Do you have 2-stage unlocking programmed? By this I mean do you have to press the unlock button TWICE to get the passenger door unlocked? If so, the rear hatch unlocks at the same time as the passenger door - with the second press of the unlock button.
