Yeah the lights come on and stay on while i try to turn the engine. the enging wants to start and gives me the first impression that there is no spark. i have a feeling im going to get riped off by the company i just took the car to since they are charging me 160 bucks just to diagnose the problem.

Check for a blown ignition fuse in the fusebox. more info would help....Do the dash lights come on in the KEY-ON position?
Will it crank over? while its cranking is the engine light on?

ok....No 1...160 bucks is far too much unless you live in the cayman Islands or Tokyo - 50-60 bucks should pay for a full diagnosis unless you own a Lamborghini

Sooo...Take off a spark plug wire, push in a used/new/sparkplug to it and lay it on a good ground..(the engine block somewhere is good) Get someone to crank it and look at the plug to see if u have a spark. dont touch the plug as u do it as the shock is not nice. use insulated pliers to hold it in place if u need to.

If you have a spark, replace the wire that u removed, remove the air filter and spray a SMALL squirt of starter fluid(ether) into the intake and crank the engine. If it starts and dies, you have a fuel problem (most likely the fuel pump)

if not your ignition system is not working.

The spark is controlled by the Crankshaft position Sensor. this is the most likely failure. It is by the crank pulley and has wires going to it so it aint hard to find - although maybe tricky to remove.

see how u go with that and please give as much info about anything so I can help you better.

What could be the likely problem that can cause my ABS light to come on in my Honda accord 1993 model?

Have your codes read at your nearby auto parts place. ABS systems have a sensor on each wheel. If one or more of these doesn't notice the wheel turning, you get the light, and your ABS can't work.

93 honda prelude abs light on it has code 1

Code 1 is pump failure. You can try to "exercise" the pump by engaging the ABS. Do this on an empty road or parking lot. Also changing the fluid in the pump. These might prolong the life of the pump, but most likely it will need to be replaced.

Cars abs sensor

the operators guide, tells you to , take it in. (service)
you have 2 choice,
1: take it in,
2: DIY, get the FSM read the pages, on ABS, then do the scan and the tests.
the abs self reset,. so if it keeps coming on, it's REAL.
can be even bad brakes.
after all, ABS cant stop a car with bad brakes, and neither can you.

you won't find a scan tool that can do ABS i bet.
but do read the FSM , some very old systems, have blink codes
or login here. and read the ABS pages on YOUR car

i would check to see if there was a recall on the abs system, some abs systems are integrated into the electrical and vacuum systems and can cause undo headaches

My ABS light on my 1996 Honda Prelude is on. How

the light will only turn off when the ABS system fault that caused the module to turn the light on is repaired, to do this u need to have the dealer test the system for fault codes, most likely one of the four wheel speed sensors will be defective.

My 1995 honda preludes emergency brake doenst work, when you pull it up it comes up easy and the break light does come on, also my ABS light is on and wont turn off

The parking brake problem could be rear brakes out of adjustment, a broken parking brake cable, or a parking brake cable in need of adjustment.

The ABS light mosy likely has nothing to do with your parking brake problem and will have to be diagnosed by first gathering the ABS fault codes from the ABS computer.

possibly the pump has packed up.if you still have brakes and they appear to work ok evan without power assistance then remove the bulb and hope its not picked up on the annual mechanical inspection when they do a brake test, other than that it will be fine and should save you being the golden egg layer.
