ABS light came on and car died...

- ok....No 1...160 bucks is far too much unless you live in the cayman Islands or Tokyo - 50-60 bucks should pay for a full diagnosis unless you own a Lamborghini

Sooo...Take off a spark plug wire, push in a used/new/sparkplug to it and lay it on a good ground..(the engine block somewhere is good) Get someone to crank it and look at the plug to see if u have a spark. dont touch the plug as u do it as the shock is not nice. use insulated pliers to hold it in place if u need to.

If you have a spark, replace the wire that u removed, remove the air filter and spray a SMALL squirt of starter fluid(ether) into the intake and crank the engine. If it starts and dies, you have a fuel problem (most likely the fuel pump)
if not your ignition system is not working.
The spark is controlled by the Crankshaft position Sensor. this is the most likely failure. It is by the crank pulley and has wires going to it so it aint hard to find - although maybe tricky to remove.
