Question about 1991 Honda Civic

1991 Honda Civic hatchback DX

If I go to start my car right after I just turned it off, it will start, but it hesitates. Not sure if this makes sense. Sometimes, I will have to wait 5- 10 minutes, because it will not start. This only happens when I've been driving and I turn my car on and off. For example, if I just run in the store for a minute and start my car again! Could it be my gas filter? Someone mentioned that to me, but I know zero about cars! Thank you all.....

I had the same problem in an 89 accord. And my 91 Civic as well. There is a sensor that I had replaced for 50 bucks. After the car warms up, the sensor wouldnt work correctly-and upon trying to start it, it wouldnt send fuel to make the car start. I am pretty sure that may be your problem. I dont remeber what it was called, but you can ask a mechanic what sensor that is called and have them check it. Worked for me!

The gas filter could partially be at fault, but have a fuel pressure test done, and also have the throttle position sensor checked. good luck.

Got a 1991 honda civic hatchback dx for a starter car and its automatic, when it wants not all the time,so im driving 30mph and for some reason it like slips than catchs back on gear any ideas?

All Honda Civic Hatchbacks have been raced and thrashed to death by 20 year olds. Not a good starter car as all the other 20 year olds had the same idea.

Check the Transmission fluid level it may be at the operational limit and sucking air. If not, get a newer vehicle and not a Civic :>)

Will a1996 honda civic front door fit 2000 honda civic dx

The body style was the same from 1996 to 2000 for the Honda Civic. Are both of the Civics similar in body style as in they have the same number of doors? Not sure if a wagon or hatchback would interchange with a regular 2 door coupe.

My 91 honda civic dx hatchback which is an auto dont wanna seem to switch gears and revs! i dont know what to do

I would try to have the transmission flushed and filled with new transmission fluid for about $100 or so. If this doesn't solve the problem, a rebuild is indicated, if you plan on keeping the car. Or, you could alternatively buy a used transmission that fits your engine and car combination, that doesn't have this problem.

Good luck on this repair.

I have a honda civic dx (hatchback)it overheated and I replaced the top hose and it was ok. Then later on went out and got stranded because car would not start. It tried to turn over and we tried to...

When your car got over heated was there any chance that it as cooled suddenly for a possible damage on the engine head. If so this could be serious. Since the top hose was changed and the car started , the fault could have developed, the crack could have come later. So check this out. Next related reason could be the ffailure of the fuel pump, fuel lines or the electricals which you can make a check on one by one to confirm . So check this out and hope that your engine is intact. Good day.
