Brakes on a 2005 Grand Prix

I have a 2005 Pontiac Grand Prid with 42000 miles on it. My brakes a re starting to squeal and I was wondering what the price range would be to get it fixed.

It could cost anywhere from 200.00 to 600.00 depending on the Rotors and if anything else is Wrong.

It should have already a few times. Clear the codes with your scanner, the computer will save past faults in the memory, but it doesn't mean the problem is still there.

I have a 2005 pontiac grand prix, one day it randomly started reading in KM instead of MI. im trying to sell it and NEED to know the miles, and how change it back to miles. someone please help :(.


Here is the PDF owners manual for your car. You have accidentally switched unit type on your (DIC) menu. Please scroll to page 3-52 and it will tell you how to switch from Metric to English

when you pushed caliper piston back dirty fluid traveled through the abs system causing valve to stick ,try bleeding the front brakes and resetting the computer.

I would start with a belt. While removing it feel how much tension the tensioner has on it, on the 3800 egnine they have a stiff tensioner(sorry I don't have any specs for how much) After you get the belt off you can look at all of the pulleys and spin them to see if the bind or look for stuff stuck in the grooves on the pulleys.
It sounds to me like the belt is streched. I would not recommend one of those gator back belts, they seem to make more noise sooner than a good v notch belt. But thats just my opinion!
